Organic Apple Cider Vinegar anyone?

Hands up for those who wants a sip!^___^ V

Lately, my weight has been going uphill (way viral!!), I am not sure whether is this an age thing, but it really gets on my nerves when I do not fit in most of my working pants (non- elastic ones) especially when you are rushing your heads of early in the morning to work and? “STUCK” it wouldn’t zip on!

Show me a hand which of you has the same experience as me? It did feel awful didn’t it?

This one fine day when I walk in the local pharmacy, I found this “Apple Cider Vinegar” and it’s on promotion- Buy 2 free 1. Hooola! A good deal !!! I thought let’s get one to try and probably give the two away as gift since I heard wonders about this product. Also, I have actually tried apple cider vinegar + honey in an organic restaurant sometime back and it tasted superb!

Being curious as a cat as always, I did some research on the WWW and here is what I found, I hope I can share this fun yet interesting information with you!

1. Increases Metabolism/ Energy

Apple Cider Vinegar increases/ speeds up one metabolism rate due to it’s acidic nature as well as it contains Vitamin B6 and Lecithin. Which means? You eat a little more or the same, but you get to control your weight!

2. It helps Constipation

I truly agreed with this. After drinking Apple Cider Vinegar, I notice I have been going to the loo more often and easily, flushing out toxin from my body, it’s definitely not diarrhea, but a healthy yet painless way of toxin flushing you know what I meant haha.

3. Cure Acne and Clearer skins

Numerous reports/forums/ discussion actually claims that after taking Apple Cider Vinegar they see healthy looking skin with less breakout. I can’t claim that this is 100% true and work as I myself do not have breakout (I am far from being a teenager) hence, I will not be able to say yes on this. However, I do think it make sense as flushing out toxin from the body do actually has a relation in reducing breakouts.

4. Weight Loss

Many claims that Apple Cider Vinegar has actually help them in reducing weight without changing their daily diet except by taking in an extra cup of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed. Since it helps with constipation and increases metabolism, this is definitely logical. Apple Cider Vinegar helps break down fat, controls blood sugar levels and helps stabilize one appetite.

5. Reduces cholesterol and lower blood pressure

Apple Cider Vinegar contains pectin which helps to reduces cholesterol, lowers blood pressure. High in Potassium

6. Better teeth and hair and helps with Hangover

The potassium in Apple Cider Vinegar provides better hair, teeth and nails and prevents cramps.

Potassium plays an important role as an electrolyte in human body; hence, they are also good in helping hangover. ( I got to know about Potassium benefit from a Dr. friend of mine, she also mentioned that Bananas are good for hangover)

7. Prevent kidney stones and urinary tract infections

It is also believe that Apple Cider Vinegar help cleanses the kidney and bladder and prevent both stones and urinary tract infection.

8. Alleviate join pain, arthritis and prevent osteoporosis

As it contains malic acid, Apple Cider Vinegar helps to alleviate join pain and arthritis as it eliminate excessive uric acid from our body.

It also helps in preventing osteoporosis as it contains magnesium, silicon and calcium.

How to prepare?

For drinking:
Mixed two teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with a full glass of water and drink them after each meal. You can also add a teaspoon of honey to make it taste nicer and use it as a healthy enzyme cocktail.

For external usage:
Mixed around 2 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with 8000ml of water, use it to wash the affected area i.e face, skin, hair etc..

Tips: Choose the raw unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar which contains "Mother" (a sticky sediment) in them for better health benefit.

Caution: Do rinse your mouth after taking Vinegar drinks as they might erode your teeth enamel causing tooth decay.

Avatar Inspired Eye-Makeup

Hi Ladies, I am going to show you the Avatar inspired look that I should post ages ago.

I got the inspiration on doing one after I generated this Avatar photo of me from MCD site. This is suppose to be my look when I'm an Avatar!!

I am ready to climb the trees.... roll on all the riches and wonder of the forest!!

So the blue-ish & Green-ish Eye Make Up where I gotten from my Avatar and the green surrounding.

Dramatic and long extended lashes using liquid liner to enhance the effect of an Avatar.

Up close with eyes open

Up close with Eyes shut. You can see I emphasize alot on the liner, this mainly to create a Huge and Dramatic effect that I want.

I uses about 5 colors to achieve the look, blending and blending and blending...It is important that you have a good blending brush to assist you if you love smoking out and blended look.

This is all about my late Avatar look entry. If you would like a tutorial on this, do let me know. I will consider in doing the tutorial if response are great. Thanks for tuning in to JamZ-T.

Nails of the Week : Turquoise Flower Nails

Hi Ladies ^_^ I am going to share with you my nails of the week!! I haven't got the time to do a tutorial as I am still pretty busy this CNY week. Relatives and friends just keep coming and coming and coming.

So yes, this is my nail of the week! I painted it with Turquoise color which I bought few days back from Elianto and draw on little flowers with my acrylic paint, Was easy and fast. Need to be a little careful with the painting as I am right handed, I can't actually piant my right nails properly and shaking haha...

Oh ya, I got some candy from "Sticky". This one is BlueBerry Rocks. Erm.. this taste so so. I love their watermelon ones, darn, I didn't get the watermelon one that day because the pattern was not cute, now I am thinking of it every time I pop in the blue berries one in my mouth. Well, the blueberry one ain't that bad just that the watermelon ones taste better =P

I got this jar of 120GM for RM 13.90, my sis said I was crazy to pay so much for sugar that makes me fat and unhealthy haha.. oh well, I'm a sweet tooth and this candy brings back memory of me living in England when I was a little girl, so sort of you know the "Nostalgic" thingy happening in me when I tasted it *winks*

Tutorial ~Golden Black NET French Tip~

Hi Ladies, Happy Spring Festival to u ^_^ & Happy Valentine's Day!!

I just wanna share with you what I have came up with for my Chinese New Year Nails to usher the year of Tiger. ^_^

I called it the " Black Net French Tip"

Tadaa.......Nice? I just think they look sexy like a roaring "tiger" haha

I use the combination of "Gold" and "Black" as it's the year of Golden Tiger and tiger has black stripes on them, so I thought the just go pretty well.

This time. I use a little more tools to assist me to get the look... this is how I do it... ^_^

1. I used

Konad Stamping kit with M57 stamping plate.
OPI - Start to Finish Top & Base coat.
Elianto- in Twilight Zone-Black Nail Color
火烈鸟 nail polish- in Gold1727. << I got this from The Curve,the stall beside Nokia and the money changer in ground floor.Real inexpensive but the result is superb. I love the gold color so so much. If you do not have this and not know where to get them. just replace with any gold color you have in hand. They will work equally well.
Vi-Ya nail art brush- Use any thin nail art brush to assist you in drawing your french tip- this is optional.

2. Apply both base coat and brush on the gold nail polish. Let it dry for 5 minutes.

3. Use the M57 stamping plate, "net" design, brush on some black polish and scrap off the excess, then stamp them on your nails. Do this to all your nails, be real careful as this can be very very messy.

4. Brush on a black color on the very tip of your nails, if you are not good at doing this, you may try doing this with a thin nail brush. If you do not want to invest money on this, just get any thin art brush brush you have in high school, make sure the bristle are smooth, then they are good for the project ^_^

5. Lastly, wait till everything dry for 10-15minutes, since we are playing with black, it is important to make sure everything dries up really well before apply on a thin top coat base.

Now, let me show what I did for my toe nails. I use the same top and base coat for my hand nails and use back the same gold nail color, the difference is I use Acrylic paint to draw on a flower on them.

This is the Acrylic Nail color and same the same thin nail art bush to draw the tiny flower and painted them. I bought this Acrylic paint at the Curve, the stall beside Nokia and the Monay Changer at Ground Floor for RM 30 only, inexpensive and fun!!

This is my toe nail of the week!!! How do you like them? I still think they are not striking enough hehe.. oh well..

Tutorial ~Pink Lacey Nails~

Tadaa.....JamZ-T Pink Lacey Nails

Hi Ladies, I have just came out with a pink lacey nails in conjuction of both Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year celebration, I think they will do just wonderful ^-^

How do you like them?

You can always change the color and pattern based on you preference, this is just what I have experimented with my Konad's stamping plate. I love them!!

1. First of all, I get my nails painted in pink, don't forget to apply a thin layer of base coat before topping your nail color. ( I am using Etude House Petit Darling Nails in PK009, its a pretty Barbie pink color, as for my base coat, I picked OPI Start to Finish Base & Top Coat)

2. Next get your Konad's stamping kit ready with your selected stamping plate, for this look I choose M57 stamping plate. ( You can get this Konad's stamping kit at Etude House if you are in Malaysia, they are relatively inexpensive, ranging from RM10 -RM30 depending on what you getting)

3. Select the color you want to be stamped on your nails. For this look, I chose black. (I am using Elainto Nail Color- Twilight Zone) (Tips: For effective stamping effect please use matte color and avoid shimmery colors)

4. With your stamping plate M57, select a lacey pattern.

5. Brush on some nail color on the selected design.

6. Scrap off the excess nail color with the scraper.

7. Using the stamping tool, stamp on your design as soon as you scrap the excess nail color to avoid the color on the stamping plate dries up. ( I highly advice you to play and practice before starting your project)

8. Using a rolling motion as per the above picture, stamp the pattern on from left to right when you stamping you right finger nails and right to left when your stamping your left finger nails. It is okay if the is excessive color touching your skin. You can easily clean them off with a cotton bud later.

9. To get my nail design, I actually stamp two/three lacey pattern on my nails (depending on the size) by row to get the full lacey nail look effect.

10. You can see picture 9 and 10 difference. With one and with two lacey image on. It's ok to have it a little messy for first few attempts, but you will get better once you practice more often.

11. I also spray on Kate Nail Color Dry to expedite the drying process. I think I got this for RM19.90 from Watson ( Not sure whether are they on discount at the time of purchase) I think they are pretty effective in drying up my nails and I love it so much since I do not need to wait for my nails to dry.

Lastly, my advice?

i. Do practice more with the stamping kit

ii. This is a very messy project, especially if you are attempting to use black, remember to always cover your working area with papers, set a side a tiny cup of nail polish remover, cotton, cotton bud in-case you make any mess.

Review: Bridal look and Cosmetics Haul!

Hi ladies, remember I told you about my cousin's friends who is getting married was asking me to do her make-up? Oh well, sadly it did not happen due to timing and arrangement.

Anyways, I had fun last week experimenting new look.

Remember that this is just the Registrar of Marriage and not a marriage dinner night make-up.

Bridal nowadays normally request for natural flawless look, yet look pretty on the camera. This is a challenge to me as I dis not attended any professional course, thus to make everything possible is through trial and error.

The look below is a very natural yet flawless look I experimented on myself. I went to get ZA's Perfect Concealer just to ensure the look is more complete. The concealer I had at home do not have flawless coverage which is a major problem to attempt this project. I normally do not do much coverage as to me I am okay if some of the blemishes or spots are shown as long as it doesn't look "scary" haha..

Basically I did not do much on the eye make-up, but focus more on coverage and concealing . Oh ya... I did not contour my face in these picture. Yes, I know I should but I did not =P Contouring is the main step to keep a face look sharp and catchy on the camera.

Without much contouring, my face does look chubby with the stuff I applied onto my face.

Since, Registrar of Marriage always happen in the day time, keep your cheek and lip color light as well, as you do not want to look over dramatic, but a sweet and happy bridal.

For the bridal project, I actually bought all these stuff to cater for the look, though it never happen, but I am glad I bought all these cosmetic, they are really some great stuff. ( Sorry for the blur picture)

1. Lelan Vital Gel Liner in black from Cosway( A direct selling company)- I bought this at a discounted member price of RM15. Result? You wont believe it! Easy to apply, very very very long lasting, color is vibrant, if you do not know how to use a liquid liner, try this, it is easier to control. Seriously I am impress with this.

2. ZA's Perfect Concealer in 2. I got this because my cousin's friend has freckles and she wants a perfect coverage, I tried on few concealer on the shelve, I found this really good in coverage and bargain for price.

3. Lelan Vital Magic BB Cream with SPF 42 +++ in light beige. This is the BB Cream that is most talk about by me in the office nowadays. I personally thing this come from the same manufacturer of Missha M BB Cream. The ingredient is similar, it is made in Korea and they have the same function as well. Price? Cosway is slightly cheaper now as they are doing a member discounted offer. I tried this BB cream on, the coverage is awesome, is exactly how Missha's BB cream work. My pore I instantly hidden, the redness on my nose area are instantly minimize and give you a flawless look. It does have a grayish look though just like the review we get for Missha's BB cream, but I brighten the look with some loose powder, till now I love it! I am going to wear it daily to work for now. ^^

4. I also got Maybelline The Magnum Volume Express waterproof mascara. I haven't open and try this yet, but it say it contains Collagen, so I can't wait to try them on. Hopefully after using my lashes look more full and volume ^^

5. I got 3 eye shadow make-up from Etude House. I went Etude House to get the Peach Pore Base actually but ended up getting eye shadow haha... I am really a fan of Etude House nowadays. I think their shadow works relatively good and the price are always reasonable and packaging is sweet..well my taste to be precise haha... I got 2 petite darling eyes shadow, in OR202 Cubic Orange and BL501 Pastel Blue, both are great for sweet natural look. On top of the two I got Cute and Sexy Eyes Palette in #4 Pink Purple. This was at a bargain of 50% discount a Chinese New Year Special..I was so happy I grab this haha...

6. I also got from Etude House- Model Face Color in #2 Model Shade. This is a matte brown color which we can use as a cheek color or for face contouring. I love this more than my Versace Conture Powder as this is matte and since the pigment is not so strong and visible when applied it is easier to control and not look dirty if we get too much of the powder on our brush.

And finally I got my B a cookie monster flip-flops!! yeah!!! I couldn't find size L so, M should do..I really wanted to get this so so long, now we get to pair it with my Elmo, yes!!!

Tutorial ~Orangy Yellow Eyes for Chinese New Year~

Hi ladies, much apology on the long delay. It’s been a hectic week, and I was down with flu, with a few bad news to pair with. My beloved boss is leaving us to pursue a better career in another department. It’s really sad, as he was like the best boss anyone could ask for. Never selfish to teach and guide, smart, always in protective of his subordinate… whatever it is just a superb boss!! *sob* and yes, good people always leave us while the baddy always stays.

Back to my tutorial, I am doing a yellow eye this time for Chinese New Year since I bought a yellow dress for Chinese New Year this year, I want something where I can matches it properly, so I decided to experiment something where I can wear with the dress yet look good.

Let’s start moving!

1.    I applied a light amount of liquid foundation on my face. Start from the centre of the face and spread the liquid out. Use a sponge to assist you on the application ( I am using Nutrimetics Cover Rich Moisturizing Foundation in Macadamia, I love this foundation alot as it easily blended onto my face, and it does not create a dry look on me where sometime we can see peeling skin especially around dry spot area.)

2.    Now let’s conceal some of the blemishes, scar and red/dark spots area. Use a concealer brush to assist you. Slowly pat the concealer on rather than brushing it on using strokes. (I was using Rimmel Hide the blemish concealer stick in sand, but I think it did not work well and rather hard to blend. I bought a new concealer last week, ZA’s Concealer Perfection in 2, this works better or I would say relatively well on hiding blemishes, scar and red/dark spot.)

3.    Puff on some loose powder to let everything sit and have a shine-free face. ( I am using Nutrimetics Sheer Perfection Silk Finishing Powder in Transparent. I love this loose powder very much, as it really give you a smooth finishing and it smell like baby powder ^^)

4.    Apply a light amount of primer onto your eye lid. Both top and bottom of the eyes making sure the applied shadow will stick well and appear prettier and longer lasting effects. You can replace it with any cream shadow if you do not have a primer base, ( I love MAC Prep+ Prime so much, the lease part about it is expensive, that’s all haha..^^)

5.    Apply matte yellow color on your lid. Pull it a little higher, slightly upper than your crease line, reason is to allow the yellow shadow to show as more layers of colors will be applied onto the eyes later. (I am using Elianto Vibrant Shadow in 06 Golden Yellow. It’s really wonderful inexpensive eye shadow)

6.    Apply the same matte yellow on the rim of your lower lash line, leaving the front inner corner shadow free for highlight. . (I am using Elianto Vibrant Shadow in 06 Golden Yellow.)

7.    Apply orange shadow on the front corner till the center of your lid, leaving the end corner shadow free. Remember not to go too high as we want the yellow color to be visible. (I am using Lelan Vital 10 Color Shadow Palette. This palette is given to me by B’s mom; I love it so much as I have lots of wonderful color now. :D)

8.    Apply dark brown shadow at the end corner of the eyes using the motion from the outer corner to inner corner as per the above picture. Again, be really careful not to go too high up. (I am using Lelan Vital 10 Color Shadow Palette.)

9.    Apply highlight color on your brow. Recommend pearl color or may be pinkish pearl color. ( I am using Kate Shadow Palette- BR-1)

10.    Now line the upper lash line. Try to extend the line a little longer than your eyes and draw a little wing at the end corner. (I am using Maybelline pencil eyeliner in black. This is rally easy to glide on and friendly to eyes, but it smudges easily after sometime of wearing, so always be really careful on not rubbing your eyes.)

11.    Line your lower lash line as well, connects it with the top liner. ( I am using Maybelline black pencil eyeliner)

12.    In order to have a longer lasting liner, I pat on some black shadow using a liner brush, do this really gently. ( I am using Kate Palettle BR-1 in shimmery black)

13.    Highlight your tear duct area. I choose gold color as it is closes to my look; you can use pearl color as well. (I am using SilkyGirl Funky Eyelights Pencil in –07 Solid Gold.)

14.    Curl your lashes and brush on light mascara, if you have long lower lashes, brush some mascara on as well, I am skipping this as I do not have much lower lashes, yes, it is sad huh? (I am using Maybelline Volume Express water proof mascara in black)

15.    Brush on some brow powder, try making it to look as natural as possible as we are going for a more softer look as you do not want to look “serious” “angry” or “fierce” during Chinese New Year. ( I am using Kate Shadow Palette BR-1 in Dark Brown)

16. Now brush on bronzer to get a slimmer and more contour face, follow the stroke as per the above picture, try not too apply too much as we do not want to look dirty, we just want the bronzer to shape and contour our face. ( I am using Versace Conture Wear.)

17. Brush on some blushes on to the cheek bone area, brushing it upstoke. ( I am using Revlon Color Stay Mineral Blush in 020 Petal)

18. Apply on any natural pinkish lip color; try to go for soft pink. (I used YSL Pue Lipstick in 125 Rose Organza. I love this lipstick so much, color is just great and soft, and it smells superb!)

Yeah, now we are all done!! I am so excited, hope you like the look.

Review: Beauty Story Sakura's Range Mask

Few weeks back, my skin condition was really terrible, horrible, vegetable !!! =( …. .

It look so dull, de-hydrated, lifeless and the worst part>>>> I have breakout!! I really have no idea what triggered it. I was so sad and had SUPER low self esteem. I kept thinking it must be that “age” thing going on, I must have entered the stage where dry skin, wrinkles and lifeless skin is starting a war! Argh! I really do not want to look “old”, seriously I am so down… who would want to?

This was then I bump into this wonderful face mask when I went shopping at Watson (a drug store) in The Curve. B was in town at that time, coming home to visit, I thought it would be great if we can do some fun things together. I remembered the first time I put a mask on his face, it was like >>Superb F.U.N!! Haha… It was his first time, and he felt silly and ticklish haha..both of us look like some walking mummies…haha he enjoyed the process very much, well who doesn’t love to be pampered anyway? So yeah, I decided to get a mask to pamper him and myself this time again! I do think sharing your hobbies and interest with you partner will certainly brings your ties and relationship closer. Give it a try with you love ones too, certainly no harm yet a better looking skin!

Oh yeah, going back to the mask. I was attracted to this mask on shelve, written >> Sakura Hyaluronic Acid Mask. I never tried anything with Sakura extract before, I did heard however, it is famous in Taiwan and Japan in the beauty line. As for Hyluronic Acid? Wow.. Something which is famous among celebrities, where injection of Hyluronic Acid will help to enhance feature, and has hydrating effect.

There was a promotional going on for this mask, 6 packs for RM29.90 (usual price RM39.90) with 3 different types of mask function i.e. 1)Sakura Hyaluronic Acid Mask, 2) Sakura Whitening Essence Mask, 3)Sakura Pearl Powder Essence Mask I thought; superb inexpensive~let’s give this babe a try.

When I got home, I was like so excited. I open the packaging, it doesn’t have much scent though fragrant is added in its ingredient, and the essence used is really thick and smooth, kind of sticky. I pull out the mask, wow real fancy, they have this plastic piece at one side of the mask to keep the folded mask from sticking together, I thought this is really thoughtful. To know whether a mask is up to standard, pull out the whole sheet of mask from its packaging, hold it above your palm and see whether the essence on it drips on your palm if it doesn’t means the mask sheet is of good quality where it can keep and hold on to the essences and the essences is thick and quality enough. With this factor, the quality essences of the mask will surely transfer onto you skin and works better.

I pasted the Sakura Hyaluronic Acid Mask onto my skin, as instructed I apply it on for 20minutes. The remaining essences, wipe it around your neck area which is prone to lines and wrinkles. As for my B, I pasted on him Sakura Whitening Essence Mask because of his work in nature; he needs to be under direct sunlight, and his skin is really dark and dull, I thought to brighten his skin up a little.

After 20mins, I took off my mask, since the mask is still wets, I wipe it on the other part of my body. Then I went straight to the mirror. WOW!!! My face look so hydrated, supple and ALIVE!! It look so plump up and I can feel the tightening effect and the fine lines near my eyes is less visible..OMG so wonderful, I never thought such inexpensive mask and produce such wonders!!!

As for B? I tell you! I was shock, wow… his face look so brighten up instantly. His cheek areas look so plump up and radiant too. Is like his skin suddenly looks younger and AWAKEN!!! He looks into the mirror and was so surprise himself either.

Wow, this is definitely a great discovery…I definitely will stock up some of this. Out of the three, I still favour Sakura Hyaluronic Acid Mask most as I thought it works best for me. The least will be Sakura Pearl Powder Essence Mask, it somehow doesn’t gives me that “WOW” effect.

My advice? It is always good to own a good mask and mask once or twice a week to keep your skin up to its optimal condition. And if you are having an important date or occasion the next day? Mask the night before to keep skin hydrated and supple; this will enable your make up to stick on your skin better and result? Better looking make-up =)

Hi ladies, hope I don’t keep you waiting too long.

Yeah, I know its been awhile since I do a make-up tutorial, I’ve been really busy, since Chinese New Year is coming, we need to get our house fully spring cleaned…erm.. well, not exactly fully, but do as much cleaning as we can, especially getting rid old books / plastic bottles, glass bottles out for recycles and donate some unused clothes or bags.

Well, we threw away/donate a whole bunch of things, but still, my house never look empty… yaiks >.<

I did a make-up tutorial, will have to get it edit first before I get them publish, meanwhile, let me share with you my experiment eye make-up I did today, Bridal look.

Guess what? My dear Sherine sis asked me whether am I interested to be a freelance make-up + hairdo artist for her friend’s registration of marriage day..OMG!!!! I am so so so lucky I would say, feeling happy with jumping monkey thoughts haha..+nervous+ don’t know whether will I be able to take up the challenge. I am not exactly professional, and I don’t really have a certificate thing going on…I don’t want to ruin every girls happiest day of their life… So….while I was thinking and thinking whether to go ahead, I decided, why not I throw in some ideas and play with them and get a hang of it first?

This is what I did today:-

Have you watch James Cameron latest movie, Avatar?

The whole world is now talking about it. it's like a virus spreading so fast!!

Facebook status daily's updates are swarmed with friends desire and wish on wanting to go for the movie, some even wanted to watch the movie for the second or third time.

I myself personally love the movie so much, mainly because I love Pandora, a fantasy world that has all things natural and magical. Everyone leaving in peace and harmony. No pollution, no war, no smelly air (well, I think, I never been there? =P) only beautiful animals, people of Pandora and magical mystical being all leaving in peace.

Is a must watch movie and YES, you have to watch it in 3D to enjoy the experience to the FULLEST!!!

Join Tzu-Chi a charity body

I have been talking and talking and talking about joining Tzu-Chi, a Buddhist charity body ever since last 2 years and still action was not taken, and I am still not a member of this body as of today.

I was a youth member for this charity body when I was in my university time. But after I left my university and head on to working life, I left this wonderful charity organization giving the excuse of “I have no time”. Its time for me to be back with them.

I have high respect for this NGO and its members. - Voluntarily helping any individual regardless of their race, nationality, languages and religion.

The Shared goal of Tzu-Chi
The shared goal of Tzu Chi volunteers is to cultivate sincerity, integrity, faith, and honesty within while exercising kindness, compassion, joy, and selflessness to humanity through concrete actions. Not only do the volunteers endeavor to promote the universal value of “Great Love,” they also fully employ the humanitarian spirit of Chinese culture to its utmost.

Get a good camera

Sadly to say, yes I blog without a decent camera. Today, all I am using is my Sony Ericsson W610i handphone camera to take pictures of my blog content and post it up on my blog. I once own a good, expensive camera, but heavy usage left it with a damage lens. I am still so reluctant to get one haha… because it really cost a lot to get a good decent one.

I am looking forward in getting a camera with reasonable pricing, compact, good focusing, and a screen where you can see yourself when taking a picture of yourself by yourself. ^^ (like the below one, with a twisted screen) This work perfectly well when I do my tutorials.

Having this function will be great...^^

Get Promoted!!!

Yes, like everyone else, we want advancement in job with a beautiful raise.

I always dream of becoming the one of the few youngest Managers in a multination corporation and yes, at the age of 25. I do not know why age 25 is my aim, may be because to me 25 is an age where big turning point in life should happen, after all, you are an ‘Older’ adult ^__^. You are like the big sister for those below 25 now, haha…

To me, getting promoted at the age of 25 (to a manager some more?) is becoming a “day-dreaming” thing as years passes. There are many more people around you that has the same capability may be more experience. I once attended an interview, and noticed people always see the “age” thing as a turn off factor to them. The younger you are, the more incapable you are. Are they correct at this? Shouldn’t they hire a person for his or her capability and his/her mental state of “maturity” rather than judging a person based on his or her age? How can one be so assured that hiring a 40years old women can 100% guaranteed that you did not just hire a kid?

Oh well, work hard! And be smart!! Promotion = more X1000 bigger dreams to be achieved.

Be a happy person and be forgiving

I am not saying that I am not a happy person and do not forgives. But I set this resolution to tell myself I have to be a happier person this year than last year and be more forgiving especially towards those people who always does something bad or selfish to hurt people around them with the one and only intention “To get attention”. So why bother them? Forgive and stay away~~~ =P

Like every year, traveling is a must for me. This year is no exceptional, and I want to go oversea. Planned to go Japan this year hopefully the plan goes on smoothly. Visiting a new country is like adding new words to a dictionary, something new, different with wonderful meaning. Hopefully this can be materialized ^^

Recipes : OMG~~ I cooked LAM MEE/Gravy Yellow Noodle

I cooked Lam Mee today!!!

Haha.. well like my quote “Beauty is both Soul and Surface”. I need to make sure I am not just a Shinny shell. ^^

I learned to cook Lam Mee today by gathering many recipes online, wanting to make the most perfect Lam Mee in the world, for my dear Lam Mee supporter and lover >>> B.

It’s the longest noodle cooking process ever by me. Other than instant noodles and pasta/ spaghetti, I don’t recall cooking anything more challenging than this.

Before I proceed. What is Lam Mee?
From Wikipedia >> Lam Mee is long yellow rice noodles cooked in a rich gravy made from the stock of prawns and chicken. It is always served at birthdays to wish the birthday boy or girl a long life, and is also known as birthday noodles.

Well, as far as I know, Lam Mee is always being sold together with Prawn Noodles and is famous in Penang, Malaysia. A traditional Malaysian Chinese everyday food. Yum yum…

Let me share with you my recipe. My parents and siblings thought it tasted great, well I guess I did not go wrong with my recipe ^^

Jamz-T Lam Mee
1. Stock Ingredients
800g Pig's marrowbone( For muslim friends, you can replace with Beef’s marrowbone)
60g Ikan bilis/ Anchovies
500g Sweet turnip
1 Whole garlic
8 Whole Shallot
5000ml water

2. Seasoning (You may adjust to suit your taste)
4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoon dark soy sauce

For thickening : mix well
8 tablespoon water chestnut starch
8 tablespoon tapioca flour
Half cup water.

3. Final Ingredients
Chicken Breast Meat of one whole chicken
10 Shelled king prawns – (depending on individual, if you love prawns you can have more, vice-versa)
1KG Thick yellow noodles or hokkien noodles
200g Mung/Green Bean Sprouts
300g Choy sum or you may use water spinach (Kangkung)
4-5 Boiled eggs sliced
2 eggs beaten

Optional
Adequate chopped spring onion
Adequate prefried chopped shallots

Method
1. To make stock, rinse all ingredients and put them into a deep pot. Pour in water. Bring to boil then reduce to low heat. I used a pressure cooker to cook this, therefore it took me about 1 ½ hour. However, if you are using a normal pot, please simmer for 3-4 hours. Remove from heat. Through sieve. Keep aside.

2. Put the chicken and prawns into the stock. Cook over low heat until cooked thoroughly. Dish up. Shred the chicken and place aside the prawn. Both chicken and prawn will be used as a main decoration for the dish.

3. Add seasoning into stock (Add little by little and adjust the taste based on your personal preference), then thicken with water chestnut starch mixture solutions. Add in beaten egg gently, little by little while stirring the stock.

4. To serve, blanch the noodles, bean sprouts and choy sum/ water spinach into a pot of boiling water. Dish up in a deep bowl. Serve with sliced prawns, pork, egg and thick soup, sprinkle chopped spring onion and prefried chopped shallots. ( You can skip the prefried chopped shallots or spring onions, but adding them will better enhance the flavour!)

Okay, I know this is a unusual post, but hope I can share this good stuff with everyone I know ^^

Tutorial: Watermelon Nails

Hi there ladies, as promised, Watermelon Nails ^^

Supposed to upload this yesterday, but I decided to take a break and read some news instead =P

Yup, thanks to Watermelon, I got inspired and came out with this nail design ^_________^ *proud* haha...

~My Yummy Inspiration~

Alright let’s get started!!

1. As per my normal practice, use a nail polish removal to remove the dirt of oil on your nails. This step will help to ensure the nail color stick on better onto your nails and longer lasting. (I am using Sally Hansen Polish Remover- Fast and Gentle. I love this remover as it is gentle on my nails, I do notice it does not dries up my nails like other nail polish remover do. But the down side is, it is not Acetone Free.)

2. Secondly, apply 2 thin layer of base coat. (I am using Ecrinal. I love this base coat so much. It does really protect my nails from turning yellow.)

3. Next, apply 2 thin layer of pink nail color onto whole of your nail. (I am using O.P.I- Pinking of You. The lightest yet sweetest pink shade I have seen so far, so natural.)

4. Using a dark green nail color act as the watermelon skin, applies it onto the tip of your nail. Since I do not have dark green nail color, I am using acrylic color as a replacement as I do not have any dark green nail polish. Acrylic paint has been used by many professional manicurists to draw wonderful pattern on nails. (I am using Winson & Newton Acrylic color-480 in dark green. You can see where I get them from my previous post >>here<<. To apply onto your nail, use a thin nail brush to apply them on. But if you do not own them, just take any painting brush you have, tiny enough to draw a line on your nail tip.)

5. Using a white nail color, draw a thin white line between the pink and dark green nail color. ( I am using Zhi Yen Nail Art Brush in bottle in white. I got this from the Curve Saturday and Sunday street market. They are really inexpensive, can’t really recall, but it cost either RM5 for 2 or RM10 for 3. If you couldn’t get the same, just use a white nail color and a thin brush to draw the line.)

6. Taking a black nail color, draw tiny dots on the pink area to imitate the watermelon seeds. You can choose to use a tiny brush to dot them or a tooth pick to assist you on this. You do not have to make them look perfect, just tiny enough to look like seeds will do. (I am using Zhi Yen Nail Art Brush in bottle in black)

7. Lastly, brush on two thin layer of good top coat.

Tutorial ~Watermelon Eyes Make-up~

Hi ladies, Happy 2010!!!!!!!!!!!

I was doing a project for my department “Get-Together-Party” today. The theme this year will be “Polka-Dots and Stripes”.

I am incharge of the decoration for my team ^^. I will show you my product + decoration once I get a snap some of the photos on the event day itself!!! Promised *_^V

As I was thinking of how to decorate, watermelon came into my mind.

Guess what? I got inspired to do a watermelon make-up and nails!

Yes all started with this picture ^^

Well, I do think that this look suit the theme for the party too..haha...

How do you like it? B said they look like leopards skin pattern. Hehe…what about you?

Ok stop with my grandmother stories and head to the tutorial ^__^

Before we go into step 1, please apply a light layer of eye primer to ensure longer lasting color effect. My favorite will be MAC Prep + Prime because they don’t crease.

1.    Apply a light cream stick color all over your lid, till right below your brow. The main purpose of doing this is to ensure the later applied shadow can be properly stick onto your lid. Especially if the shadow used has a lighter pigment. (I am using Etude House Shine Up Stick in Purple- 10. I bought this at a bargain when Etude House is doing a discount. RM 12.50. I love this cream stick as it is really good ^^)

2.    Next, use a melon green shadow onto your lid, from the front inner corner of the eye till the end corner of your lid. This is like the outer skin of the watermelon. (I am using The Color Workshop Eye Shadow Palette - color in medium green shade. This is just a really inexpensive shadow color I bought from drug store. The pigment aren’t that great, that is why the assistance of cream shadow or eye primer will enhance its color)

3.    Now get a white shimmery shadow, apply it onto of the green shadow into your crease area. Then, use a matte white shadow and re-apply it onto the white cream shadow. The main purpose of the white cream shadow is again help to enhance the later applied white shadow and to allow it to stick better on the eyes and more visible. The white color is like the flesh between the melon skin and its red flesh. (I am using Etude House Petit Darling Eyes-02 Shimmer Beige(Cream) and The Color Workshop Eye Shadow Palette in Matte White)

4.    Now, use a light Maroon color, a color close to he water melon flesh color and apply it above the white color up till below your brow as per the picture shown above. ( I am using The Color Workshop Eye Shadow Palette - color in Light Maroon)

5.    Use a sponge shadow applicator that has a narrow tip, pick up black color and make tiny dots onto the Maroon color. This is an imitation if the melon seeds look. ( I am using Kate Shadow Palette BR-1 in Black)

6.    Taking the melon green color that you applied on your lid area just now and run it over the lower lash line, from end to centre. (I am using The Color Workshop Eye Shadow Palette- Colour in medium green shade.)

7.    Now, its time to highlight your eyes and brighten the whole look. Use pearl shimmery color and apply it at the front inner corner onto your tear ducts area. ( I am using Kate shadow palette BR-1 in Pearl White)

8.    Line both your top and bottom of your eyes using a pencil eye liner. Keep the line thin. The main purpose is to strengthen the look, but not too dramatic so that it will not take over the look. ( I am using Maybeline Pencil Eyeliner in Black)

9.    Now curl your lashes and apply mascara. ( I am using Maybeline Volume Express Mascara in Black)

Yeah, we are now done!!!!!

Tutorial ~Fun Lime Green Eyes for Christmas~

Hi Ladies, yes, two eyes make-up tutorial 2 days in a row!!!!

A special gift for you on Christmas *hugs*

I did not take a full picture of my look as I actually do these two tutorials at the same time, one eye Black & Maroon and the other, Lime Green Eyes. So I look kind of silly if I were to picture my full face look to you haha…

I came out with Lime Green Eyes look mainly because it reminds me so much about Christmas tree!

If you do not like the Black & Maroon eyes as it might be too dark for you, you may go for this fresh greenish look!

So yes, lets get moving.. yeah let’s move it !move it! :P

1.    Using a shadow brush and apply a matte lime green color onto your lid. Spread the color all over onto your lid but avoid touching your brow bone as per the picture shown above. Try to pull the color slightly upwards. Make sure when you open your eyes you are able to see the lime green color. This is especially important for Asian eyes, those with mono lid, or like me having a double a double eye lid, but when I open my eyes, the color is barely visible as it hid inside my lid. Argh.. really a pain in the @$s.. !
( I am using Elianto- Vibrant Shadow- in 19 Young Lemon-Matte)

2.    Next, apply a dark green color at the end corner of eyes using a crease blending brush. This will create a deeper set look of eyes.
(I am using Zelan Vital, 10 Color Shadow Palette in Dark Green- well any dark green will do)

3.    Use a shimmery green color to highlight the front inner corner of your eyes. This will brighten and give a nice highlight to the eyes. Bring attention to your eyes.
( I am using Etude house-GR602 Shimmery Green)

4.    Use the same dark green color, with an eye shadow brush and apply at the end corner of your lower eye line. Leave the front inner corner of your water line for shimmer pearl white/ beige highlights.
(I am using Zelan Vital, 10 Color Shadow Palette in Dark Green- well any dark green will do)

5.    Yes, now is time to highlight your eyes. As usual, highlight your brow done with a shimmery pearl white or beige color. Do the same to the inner corner of your lower lash line.
(I am using Kate Eye Shadow –BR1 in pearl white)

6.    Next, apply liquid liner to further enhance the look, both top and bottom lash line. I love to do a little “wing” at the end corner of the top liner. You may do that too, but don’t over “winged” it as it might look over dramatic for Christmas ^^

(I am using Revlon Color Stay Black Liquid Liner)

7. Curl your lashes. You may choose to apply some mascara or skip this step.

8. Now glue on the false lashes. I use natural look false lashes with volume. The false lashes are perfect for occasion like these. Not too dramatic yet not too simple.
( As usual, I am using Don Eyelash Adgesive Glue from Sasa ^^)

Tutorial ~Black and Maroon Eyes for Christmas~

Hi Ladies, I came out with a Maroon and Black eyes make-up tutorial. I thought it would be great for Christmas as it will matches the atmosphere and outfit for Christmas! It does not out stand much with my camera phone, but I think it did look quite well. Hope you like it as well, and gave you an idea on what to wear during Christmas.

Before start, as usual apply eye primer onto your lids. This is to ensure the shadow color stay vibrant and long lasting on our lids.

Okay, now let’s get started.

1. First, spread cream shadow all over to lid. Any light cream shadow will do. The main purpose is to hold on more shadow color so that the color will look more vibrant.
(I am using Etude House-Petite Darling Eyes in 02 Shimmer Beige)

2. Secondly, use a maroon color and apply it to the center of your lid using a shadow brush.
( I am using Maybelline Long Wearing Eyeshadow-200DP-50 in maroon.)

3. Next, use a black eyeshadow at the front corner of your eyes using a shadow brush.
( I am using Kate BR1 shadow palette in black)

4. Apply black shadow at the end corner of eyes using a shadow brush.
(I am using Kate BR1 shadow palette in black)

5. Using a crease blending brush and draw a connecting line on the center of the eyes into the crease.
(I am using Kate BR1 shadow palette in black)

6. Use a shimmery pink shadow; apply it onto the maroon shadow. This will enhance the color and strengthen the attention onto the maroon color. You can also replace this will glittery shadow for better party effect.
(I am using Color wear glitters- in 23 Glitter pink)

7. Line both top and bottom eyes. I choose to draw a light inner line. The main reason on not lining a thick line is to avoid too much black color on the lid, drawing attention away from the maroon color that we apply.

8. Curl your lashes. You can choose to apply mascara or skip this step. Then glue on the false lashes.
(Always use good glue for your lashes. I am using Don waterproof eyelash adhesive which I bought from Sasa. I found it good as it stick on well and it can be used many times.)

9. Lastly, highlight the inner corner of your lower eyes and highlight your brow bone.
(I am using Kate BR1 shadow palette in pear white.)

Yeah! Your done. Hope you like it! You may use the look for other dinner party as well or may be clubbing too!

Hi ladies, have you ever thought of shopping online? I know it is so popular in the State and many other well develop countries, but in Malaysia is it the same?

Each time when you see some great products selling online, do you have various questions popping out asking whether is it safe to buy from anonymous? Whether will my goods arrive? Is the person/company I am dealing with a genuine one? Exchange rate, how is it? Delivery cost incurred?

Haha… This is the problem I encounter each and every time I saw some fabulous stuff online. I always wanted to buy all the wonderful stuff I see, because they always look so good in the picture posted, but I am afraid.

Today, online shopping is every where, from forums to individual site, blogs to now facebook! Who can resist the temptation? Argh…

I did want to buy from State very much as they have more online stores to choose from. From designer goods to great makeup products to nail products. However, the doubt on exchange rate and delivery cost that might incurred along the way held me back. At the end of the day, it might not worth all the fuss as it might cost a fortune. Oh well, at least that is what I think? I would prefer to buy from locals instead.

My first time of purchasing goods online is from Facebook. I saw this Malaysian lady selling nice clothes on Facebook, named GreatStyle Boutique. I thought, why don’t I give a try? If she is genuine, I get a nice sweater, if she is a fake, well; I will just lose out RM 70 and learn a lesson. I wouldn’t need to worry about exchange rate and high delivery as she is operating at the same location as I am. All needed was to browse into her facebook picture, choose the clothes I want to purchase write down the code and contact the seller about the item I want. The seller will then inform about the stock and transaction procedure. Normally it would be to bank in to his/her account. It will normally take about 1-2days for the goods to arrive (Within the same/nearby location). Delivery cost will be based back on the location of both seller and buyer. I was satisfied with my purchase, everything came in good condition and the service of the seller was professional as well. However, due to some reason she has now stopped her business.

This time again, I couldn’t resist my temptation of pretty clothes; I bumped into Trendy Mannequin Room on facebook. I added Trendy sometime ago. I notice the prices of the clothes sold are quite reasonable. I did my monitoring for a period of time as I am afraid that I may get cheated. I notice people are buying and replying on Trendy's wall, which is a good sign. It was last 2week I saw this pretty dress that I love so much and decided to give it a try! Since my goods were pre-ordered goods, I will need to wait till the pre-order section close before the seller will send me my goods. I am okay with that as Trendy has informed us buyers about the estimated date that we will get our goods.

(Tips: Always be caution when buying online, monitor seller or get feedback from forums or friends which bought from these people/companies to avoid being cheated)

My parcel arrived with a sweet surprise!

Yeah! And this is what I received yesterday! I bought a black and white “party dress” which cost me RM45 including delivery. And in view of Christmas, Trendy even gave me a pair of cute teddy earrings! I love them!!!!!! It reminds me about a cute key chain what I lost when I was little. Haha, they look so similar I just couldn’t believe my eyes! Thanks Trendy!

I favor this emulsion alot! Other than being part of my skin care regime, it serve pretty well as a make up based as it is very light and not oily. You can barely feel anything on you skin. Yet it is smooth and nice to touch on. Works well with my compact powder too!

My Review:

My favorite among the products will definately be Perfect Renew Dual Touch Eyes cream. Reason will be, it really works for me! I notice that my fine lines are now less obvious. This is so cool!!!!!! Being a person who loves playing with eye make up, good eye cream will be crucial for me. From my previous post review, you may notice that Laneige is thoughtful enough to have a day and night eye cream where most brands do not. This allowed the cream to cater different needs for the skin around your eyes.

Day time, you will get a SPF25/PA ++ protection for the delicate skin around your eyes and as for night time a soothing hydrating contain dermochlorela and yeast which helps to increase the blood circulation around the eyes area giving it elasticity. The day cream is not oily as we normally sweat more throughout the day this is a plus point. I wear the day cream under my eye make-up daily to give a moisture effect also serving as an eye shadow base for my eye make-up. As for the night cream, I use it for my tired and stressful eyes after tons of make-up is put on it throughout the day. It did hydrates and repairs the skin around my eyes V^^V

This rich cream works perfectly for me at night when I have my air-condition on. My skin before felt so dry and lifeless. But after using the Perfect Renew Cream, my skins not only feels more moisturized, it brighten up. The lines on my neck are also less visible now. Now call that miracle!

In summary:

1. Will I get the product again?

Yes, definitely, I am so in love with it, I wouldn't want to let such good things slip away, am planning to introduce it to my mom as well. ^^

2.Did Laneige deliver its promises of preventing premature aging?

I would say YES, the fine lines on my skin did reduce after I try on the product. ^___^ wonderful!especially on the eye creams.

I can now go out with a perfectly moist and bright face, which I have always dream for.

Yeah I got my hair rebond!!!

Yeah! I finally went to get my hair rebond V^.^v

I am so happy as I have been waiting for this moment so so long.

The reason I did not get my hair straighten right after it grew back mainly because I need to give my hair sometime to re-gain it’s strength and vitality. It’s becoming weaker ever since I started my journey of dying, straighten then perm and doing all sort of different styling with my hair. Therefore, nowadays I try not to style my hair that often to keep it healthy.

I went to K-Care Shop in Taman Megah, this Friday (which is Hari Raya Haji public holiday) with mom to give our hair a new look since new year is coming and all sort of parties and dinner is waiting for us.

Mom getting her hair dye, her hairstylist is pretty ^_^

Mom went to dye her hair, dark copper + mahogany. Love her look, somehow I think she looks fresher with her new hair color yet the color is not “lala”.

My stylist straightening my hair. I was working while getting my hair done. Too many work to finish >.<

Me as usual, straightening. My hair is little waving at the front, so it is always a major headache when the wavy part grew out. I always get irritated with it.

The whole process took me about 4 hours and Mom’s 3 hours.

So the review of the salon? Well, I am a loyal patron there; always go there to get my hair done, due to the distance, product, price and great stylist. However, this time? I think it sux. Service has deteriorated. My preferred stylist is not there as well, he has change to another branch in SS2. The rebonding package I go for has a hair treatment, but no treatment was done on my hair, unlike the previous time when I was there. So I feel like “kena” cone. To add on, my friend told me that they also give up free membership card if you spent RM350 above, but I spent RM440, nothing was offer to me.

Will I go there again? Yes, but not that branch. Most probably will go to the one in SS2 where my preferred stylist is there.

Am I satisfied with my look? Yes, it looks straight, no burn at the tip and it’s silky smooth like any rebonding that I have done.

As for mom? She said she prefers lighter shade, she think it is too dark for her.

Price :

Rebonding- RM280 for my hair length. I am using Sheseido products. They have a cheaper option RM199 using JS products. You can choose either one package. Comes with treatment and haircut.

Hair Coloring – RM 160 for my mom’s hair length.(Shoulder length). No hair cut provided.

Tutorial: ~Dark Sultry Smokey Eyes~

Steal my look!!

Hi ladies, so glad to have you here again. It’s been a while I did not come up with an eye make-up tutorial, hope I don’t keep you waiting too long.

It’s year end, Christmas is coming soon, so as new year. Many will have to attend various functions or parties, so I decided to come up with a Dark Sultry Smokey Eyes look ^.^ which you might be interested in wearing during these occasions. It will be a great look to wear to a party or a dinner night. ^.^V

Let’s get going!!

1.    Use a black pencil liner, line the whole of your lids, it doesn’t need to be a nice straight line as you will need to smudge it later. (I am using Maybelline Pencil Liner in black. This eye liner is is good to use for this look as it is easy to be smudge and blend.)

2.    Take a matte black color eyeshadow, apply it on the liner that you have just draw and blend it to the whole of your lid using a circular motion as per the picture above. Use a blending brush to help you on the blending to have get better result. ( I am using Maybelline Long Wearing Eyeshadow-200DP-50 in Black. I don’t think they are selling this anymore as this was given to me by mom sometime back. I don’t really use it back then.)

3.    Use a dark brown or a coffee brown color eyeshadow, apply it above the black color eyeshadow into your crease in a circular motion as per the picture above. Make sure your blend it with the black eyeshadow properly so that you will not see harsh edges. Bring the color onto you brow bone area, but leave a space between the brown and your brow for highlights. (I am using Kate BR-1 palette-in dark brown.)

4.    Mixed a golden shimmery and orangy brown shadow, apply it onto half of your lid to brighten up the dark look a little. (I am using Kate BR-1 palette-in gold and orangy brown.)

5.    Use a pearl white highlight color, apply in onto the space between the brown shadow and your brow as per the picture above. Also, highlight your tear duct area and the font inner corner of your eye. (I am using Kate BR-1 palette- in pearl white)

6.    Line your upper lash line with a black liquid liner and lower lash with a black pencil eye liner. (I am using Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner in Black on my upper lash line. As for my lower lash line, I used Maybelline Pencil liner in Black.)

7.    Apply dark brown or coffee brown which you use on you upper lid earlier and run throw the end of your lower lash line using an angel brush. (I am using Kate BR-1 palette-in dark brown.)

8.    Curl your lashes. Be careful not to smear your look with the lash curler.

9.    Glue on your false lashes. I chose a dark thick lashes to strengthen the whole look.
(I bought the false lashes from Sasa sometime ago. Not sure about the price. But you can get such lashes almost anywhere nowadays. Walk into Sinma if you have tight budget or if do not want to spend much. However, make sure you get a good false lashes glue. I bought mine from Sasa it’s called “Don-eyelash adhesive”. It is water proof. I have been using them for years now. It is very good to use. Price is not too expensive. I got it for around RM10-15, 1 bottle can last you for a very long time. I highly recommend you to get it if you are into eye false eye lashes as those glue come with false lashes packaging are usually not reliable and most of the time dried up.)

10.    Apply some brow powder on your brow. If you have a short brow, try extending them a little. As per the picture above, do not extend your brow line till it passes the purple like or else it will look very odd. Since I do not have a brow powder, I use my Kate Eyeshadow dark brow. You can do that too if you want. Make sure the color last.

11.    To get a sultry look, instead using a pink blushes, I use my bronzer and apply it upwards onto my cheekbone. ( I am using Versace Couture Wear- V2007-k 81107)

12.    Line your lip with a brow or nude color lip liner and apply a brownish color onto your lip. I am picking this color to avoid bright color steal the attention off my eye make-up. (I am using Avon Simply Pretty lip liner in Nude and Clinique Lipstick in 66 Just Raisin)

I showed "B" the look and guess what he replied? " Erm.. is it suppose to be this dark?" lol.. he is so adorable..hehe love him ^o^

I had Swedish "Balls" today !!

Hi people! Sorry for the long absent. I had been very busy lately running around here and there as well as rushing for my work due to year end. Apologize to all of you, I miss u all so so much!

Just to share with some random update of me.

I had dinner at Ikea today. Was craving for its “balls” the whole day..haha...

Crazy as it sounds, since I can’t stop my craves yet I couldn’t find someone to accompany me last minute, I hit straight to Ikano @ The Curve right after office hour alone. And since it is Hari Raya Haji tomorrow the traffic was pretty smooth ^__^ hooray!!!!

The yummy “Swedish meatballs” was introduced to me by my colleagues sometime ago. I never knew food at Ikea can be inexpensive yet so yummy!

Yummy.. thinking of it still makes me hungry....

The price of my meatballs only cost me RM5 for 5 Swedish meatballs. If you want to go for more? They have 10 at a promo price of RM9 (normal price at RM10).

I love the cranberry jam that comes along with it as it tasted so good. Absolutely two thumbs up from me. “B” told me he had tried them, but dislikes it, so I guess this is more on one personal preferences.

I also ordered one “Soup of the Day” which cost RM3. I really don’t know what soup was it ,however, it tasted spicy and oily. It had bunch of onions and cabbage in them. I really do not enjoy the taste. It looks so fattening, I decided to boycott it .. !! =P

After dinner, I headed straight to the ground floor to get my dessert, a yummy vanilla ice cream from Ikea which cost only RM1. It has a strong vanilla taste, but not too sweet, which is a plus point to me! However, I still think Mc Donald’s sundae ice cream would taste much better, as it is creamier and smoother!

I highly recommend you to try them if you take beef, it is really good. (well, my preference =P). However, if you are planning to visit the Ikea Restaurant during weekend, be prepared for "people mountain, people sea" (another way of saying alot of patrons/people in Chinese :>)

Tutorial: Simple and fast yet cool & classy nail art

This is my nail of the week!! How do you like it?

I am having nail art sticker on my nails ^__^ cool?

Well this is the simplest way of having beautiful nails art for those who wants to spent minimal time with no or little nail art design experience on coming up with beautiful nails.

I was on a rush last week, I need to get my nails done using as little time as possible yet I want them to look different than the normal Plain Jane design so I came up with this look.

1. As usual, using a nail polish remover, clean the surface of your nails to get rid of any dirt or oil to allow long lasting application.

(I am using Sally Hansen’s Fast and Gentle with Vitamin E & Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein- Strengthening for weak and thin nails. They also have it for normal nails and dry nails. I love this alot as it do not dry my nails when I clean them. Unlike the other nail polish remover that I have tried. The smell of it is also acceptable; it has a mild fragrance rather than strong “lacquer” or “thinner” smell. They are also quite reasonable, 236.5ml only at RM 12.90 from Guardian Pharmacy. The down side of it is that it does not remove nail polish as fast as I thought it would, but I would go for protecting my nails than fast removal)

2. Apply 2 base coat onto you nail. Try to get a good nail based coat as it is a crucial item to helps protect your nail from turning weak and yellow especially if you love applying nail color frequently.
( I am using Ecrinal- Base Coat Flexible Protectant which has this anti-strikes formula. It is a product Made in Monaco where it is free from Acetone/ Formaldehyde / Toluene. I am not sure about the price (I do remember they are quite pricey though), but you can get it from Song Ai Ling Nail Parlor in Bangsar Village New Wing.)

3.Take any color nail color of your preference, dark if your nail art stickers are light in color or light color if your nail art stickers are dark in color to create a contrast. This method will allowed the nail arts to appear more visible. Go creative and experiment with colors. Apply at least 2 layer of nail color to enable the color to appear sharper.
( I am using a Maroon nail color- Color 65 cosmetic, which I bought from SINMA only RM2.50 or 2 bottle for RM 5.00)

4. Before sticking any nail art sticker, apply a layer of top coat on the nail color you just apply. This is a crucial step mainly to avoid the nail art stickers get stained at a later stage when you apply you final layer of top coat to seal in the nail art sticker.

(This time I am using OPI Start to Finish Base and Top Coat)

5. Now is time for the nail art sticker. If possible use a tweezer so that you can stick the nail sticker easily on you nails. If you want to know how a tweezer looks like please click here. Choose any design of your choice, flower, hearts, angels, anything depending on your liking and occasion and go go go creative!! Ypu can choose to stick 2 nail art sticker at one time too on a single nail! depending on how you want to stick and position them. Be mindful, once you stick them, do not unstick them or shift them, this will spoil the nail color you just apply. Let it be if it's a little crooked, it would certainly be better than starting everything from zero again. Becareful if you want to redo everything for that particular nail especially when you use nail polish remover. Try not to stain and affect the rest of the nails.
( If you are living in Malaysia, you can basically get the nail sticker anywhere, at pasar malam, nail art shop, accessories shops, they also have it in Elianto, The Skin shop, Etude House. As for me I always get my nail art sticker either from pasar malam(Malaysian night market) 3 for RM 10 or during weekends at The Curve at the same price. I prefer those I get from pasar malam as they have more designs, qualities are good and price is reasonable. I bought one from Elianto, I don’t like them because they are hard to take off and sticking on the nail is hard as they were too sticky)

6. Lastly, apply 2 layers of top coat again to seal in the nail art stickers.
(Again, I am using OPI Start to Finish Base and Top Coat)

7. Wait for you nails to dry, to expedite everything you can blow dry it using you hair dryer/fan, cool air will be recommended as you do not want to toast you nails or fingers ^__^

Now you are ready to hit the road and show off your nails :P

Tutorial ~My Silky Girl Look ~

~*My Silky Girl Look*~

The above pictures are the advertisement for one of Silky Girl newest range “Silky Girl Sporty”. I saw this advertisement when I was shopping yesterday.Instantly felt in love with it, feeling that it would be a fun look to do a tutorial on, and definitely a great look for a hippy day to go out with friends.

A really simple eye make-up where anyone can do it, but the result, I would say, pretty cool and different.

This tutorial will teach you how to come up with the similar eye look, my way ^__^

Since I do not want to spend getting the new eye shadow, I decided to look for similar colors I have in my collection to get back my look. I took out my “The Color Workshop” shadow palette and found the perfect color to create the look. I think you should do that too so we could save more. Always remember to spend wisely. ^__^

For the inner corner of the eyes, like the two ladies in the advertisement, I chose the lightest pink I have on my palette and mixed it with a little darker pink to make the look more visible. As for the milky green color, I am using the lightest lime-milky green I have.

Alright, lets get started!

1. Like always prime your eyes with primer, if you do not have a primer, use a sticky cream shadow like the one I show above. Spread it all over you lid, remember to apply till the area below your brow as we are going to apply color there as well. (I am using MAC Prep+Prime. The cream shadow in Shimmer Beige id from Etude House at RM 9.90 only)

2. Next, take the pinkish eye shadow color, apply them using an eye shadow brush from the inner corner of your eyes, till the centre part of you eyes, and remember to bring them up till below you brow area.

3. Using a business card, place it at the end of your eyes. One end touching the end of the brow, the other end place it near the end line of your eyes, Please refer to the green line I drew on the picture above. The reason I do this is to get that straight clean line effect at the end corner like what Armani and Felicia had in the advertisement. Some people may want to use tape to get this effect, but I do not advice sticking tape on you face especially around your eyes, as these area are really delicate, and you do not want to get wrinkle and fine lines. Taking the lime milky green color, apply it from the center of the eyes, till the end corner of your eyes. Bring the color up onto your brow bone area. Then using your brush, try blending the edge between the two color slightly, but not too much as you do not want them to mix.

4. Check your eyes, make sure they look similar, no need the same as they are not twins, just try making them look similar will be fine. Clean up or touch up.

5. Line your eyes, make sure to draw them as close as possible to the lash line. Try to wing out a little, ensuring that the green color does not look like it is hanging half way in the mid-air, use you liner as the line to support it. (Haha I hope you understand what I type, if not please look closer to my picture, I am trying my best to explain it.) ( I am using Maybeline pencil eye-liner, I do not think this is a good eye pencil liner as it smudge easily, the positive thing above it is, it is inexpensive and ophthalmologist tested, so it is safe for your eyes)

6. Line your waterline as well.

7. Highlight your tear-duct area with a gold color pencil liner, if you do not own one, white/gold/silver color shadow works equally good.

8. Curl your lashes

9. Apply mascara and you are done!!!!! (oops sorry about my photo, the word "Mascara" disappeared.lol)

My Shopping Spree at 1Utama

Yes, I went shopping again today, and yes, again with my mom.

The reason I love going shopping with my mom is because I think she deserve a good rest and 1000000X reward after a long week of pampering and taking care of every member at home. It’s the only way we can spend time together too as I am busy busy during weekdays that I would basically do not have time for anyone at home. Since B is also busy with his work, I guess, it is a golden opportunity to pamper myself and mom with a girls day out again.

Today, our venue is One Utama, (Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, for those who do not know ^__^). I love going One Utama or 1U, ever since secondary. Don’t ask me why, is just a place where I buy most of my clothes, hang out with friends, ahem..pak tou with B haha...we love going to the “Rain Forest Area” to feed the fishes and just spent lazy afternoon there “Starbuck-ing”.

First action list when I reach there, haha I headed for Etude House, a beautiful Korean brand cosmetic store. It’s a lovely lovely place to be in shopping. Everything is decorated so sweet and comfy, Pink+white design( hehe my favorite color). Etude House is a place full of great stuff. It has the award winning Mousse BB cream, 1 handsome and 1 pretty Korean star as ambassador, inexpensive yet wonderful cosmetic product! What can you ask for more?

Me being as me loves to haunt for fresh, interesting product which are fun and new to play and experiment with. And guess what I found? Yeah, I found Konad stamping set that I have been longing for!!!! I always see them online, and usually being ship to US only, but today I found it in Etude House, yet at an inexpensive price. I got two nail art’s image stamping plate, each for RM12.90, a stamping kit at RM16.90 for me to pick up the colors from the nail art’s stamping plate and stamp it onto my nails, a nail polish color- Barbie pink-PK009, and a green metallic yellow eye shadow at RM 9.90 (see below). I can’t wait to play with the stamping set, surely do a tutorial once I learn the techniques of getting it done easily and nicely ^.^V.

Our little tummy started grumbling after that, well actually it was me hehe, so we decided to dine in Delifrance Bakery.Cafe.Bistro, a place where I haven’t been a long time. I use to dine in Delifrance during secondary with schoolmates just to eat their croissant sandwiches which I think it’s awesome. We ordered one slice of Family Fruit Tart RM5.60, one Mushroom Quiche at RM 6.80, and a Pasta Chicken Bolognese at RM15.50. Mom and me love the Family Fruit Tart a lot. There was whole lot of strawberry on top of a Portuguese tart kind of thing. It tasted so yummy that I decided to buy it for B’s in law birthday..hmm… wonder if they like the taste too hehe…The Mushrrom Quiche tasted awful, so don’t buy them..haha.. Seriously it does looks good, but the taste was not up to expectation. As for the Pasta Chicken Bolognese, it tasted normal, nothing special, probably not so value-for-money thing unless you order it during weekdays which is at RM7.90 (50% off) if not, I would rather go for their pastries which is far more better.

Next, after some shopping for groceries and visited Voir to buy my dear mummy some stuff, we headed to Watson. The reason I drop by there is because they are having some cool bargain on selected items so it’s a must go on my list hehe…(Tips-always check the paper before going out shopping to save more) I went browsing the whole shop, one by one, which is me, when I shop, haha I am always curious like a cat. I did it mainly because I can really know what the new items in town are and what are in bargain.

I found an antiseptic wipes, 80 sheets at only RM8.90! So far the cheapest antiseptic wipes I could find. I think this is a must buy for everyone. You can actually carry it in you handbags (if you have a medium size bag- if not go for a smaller pack but not so good of a bargain), and I would say quite handy especially when you are eating out a lot or going to places with lots of people. Hygiene is always the key of good health. It is always a good item when you have to use a public toilet, it an act as a toilet sit wipes, or if there is no water, they are just excellent! ^___^

I also got a compact powder from Rimmel London “Renew&Lift”- Brighthening Powder with Minerals in Porcelain at an offer of RM30.90 (Usual RM33.90 I think). I got it because I do not want to use foundation on my skin everyday as they will eats into your skin eventually. I just need something to keep my face sheen free. I use to use Neutrogena Compact Powder which is really really good, but I don’t see them in Malaysia anymore, =( … I also got a concealer from Rimmel London in Sand at RM19.90. Always choose a concealer one or two color darker than you skin tone as when you apply your foundation or compact powder, the color will even out. Why I get it? I have no idea; I thought I just need one since I don’t exactly own one, as I normally use my foundation as my concealer lol…

Essences are always the most important solution in a perfect skin care product. Essence are normally the key to a product and this case for Laneige is for a total anti-aging for younger looking skin clear as snow o(^___^)o

I open each and every bottle of the Laneige product, they are mildly fragrant. It smells so good and refreshing, not too strong like some of the other product in the market that might make you feel dizzy. Tutorial: Pink & Black Polka Dots Nails

Yeah I finally get to do a nail tutorial for you guys. o(n_n)o

What do you think about my Pink & Black Polka Dots nails?

I got my inspiration from this lovely black and pink gift box from sweet Aunty Alice ^_^.(below)

Are you ready ? Now let’s all get started!!

1. Before I move on into applying things on my nails, I normally would clean the surface of my nail with a nail polish remover. The main reason is to get rid of any dirt or oil on the nail surface which made application look cleaner and nail polish last longer.

3. Next, take any light pink color you have and apply 3 thin layers onto your nail. Make sure the first layer is partial dry before adding a new coat on top.
(I am using OPI –Pink-ing Of You. This is a pretty color. It gives you the soft sweet look and looks very pretty by it’s own too ^_^)

4. Get any black nail color you have, apply it over the pink nail color you just applied earlier. Start from the center of your nail and using vertical stroke, cover half of your nail with the black color.
( I am using Elianto’s Twilight Zone. I don’t really like the texture as I found it too thick and sticky, I prefer more watery texture as application will be easier. Also, I do think the brush is too small, therefore you need to do few stroke before making sure your nail is properly covered with the color.)

5. Take a darker metallic pink polish, use a thin brush and draw a thin line on the line/edge where both light pink and black meet to camouflage the uneven stroke and to make the look cleaner.

Tip: You can tilt the brush a little for easier application
(I am using ZhiYan-63457. I got thinks from The Curve during their Saturday/Sunday bazaar. If I did not recall wrongly they are selling this at 4 bottles for RM 10. It comes with a thin brush which is good for nail art. The brush is not that great, I need to trim it to the desire shape when I first bought it. Now it is better for precision. But with the price I get, it doesn’t really matter.)

6. Using a nail art pen, carefully drip little white dots randomly on the black nail color where you have painted. You do not need to be precise, make sure the distance between one dot to another is same for all the dots you make that would be fine. If you prefer bigger dots you may do so. This will be up to personal preferences.
(I am using Enamel Art 1000 in white. I got this from The Curve Saturday/Sunday Bazaar too. Haha you know I love going there; there is a lot of cool hidden treasure where you might not find in shops. I think it was price at RM 5 per bottle. I love this one, it give you a little 3D effects, really cool ^-^)

7. Lastly, apply two thin coat of top coat to set what you have done earlier. Make sure everything is dry before applying the top coat as since this time we are using black/dark color with light colors, it might stain the other light colors we applied. Be very careful with your application. After that, gets a clean cotton bud, clean the side of you nail, making sure everything look clean and neat. Let it to dry again before moving your fingers and doing chores. Try avoiding soap or opening tins or can for the first few hours to avoid damaging what you have done.

(For top coat I highly recommend Seche Vite- Dry fast Top Coat. This is super good I would say. It will dry your nail in a very short time, also has this diamond hard effect which helps protecting you nails from breaking off too easily especially when you have long weak nails. The price of this Top Coat is pricey in Malaysia. 1 bottle of this cost me RM 62. I heard in the USA they are only selling them at USD$5-6. What a big difference. Anyone happens to go there please help get me some of these good stuff hehe =P)

>>> For those who want to spend little on nail product, you can get OPI Start to Finish Base and Top Coat. 1 bottle solves them all. But with this, you will require to wait a longer time before it dries.)

Review: The Face Shop Nail Polish

Hi ladies, it’s me again =)

I always felt grateful and excited when you people actually drop by and read my blog. Thanks you so much.

Today, I am going to do a short review on the nail polish I got recently. Actually it was a little gift bought by B for me. I love it so much as it was the first nail polish he ever bought me hehe.. yeah! I am still so in love with it!!

It’s from The Face Shop. Something I chose by random when I went in to the shop last week in Mid Valley. I always wanted a light purple color polish, so yes, last week I finally got it. The price was relatively inexpensive I would say. 11ml at the price of RM5.90. The color was really sweet and lady like.

I did an experiment with it. I wore it without any base or top coat and surprisingly it lasted me for one week and it still look as if I applied it yesterday (picture above). None of them crack off from my nail (other than my pointer as I accidentally hurt it today hehe… you can read my previous post) Just to add on, I applied 3 coating to get the purplish color on my nail as the color is really light.

The smell of the nail polish is moderate. I would say it is still acceptable. It still not comparable to OPI where I do think the “thinner” smell is less obvious.

The brush is above average, application was easy. Not much mess created.

Overall I would state it as a good buy as the quality you get is worth more than what you have paid. I would compare it with one of my OPI nail polish which last almost the same length of time before it started peeling off.

If you are going for a longer lasting nail polish yet at a lower budget, I would say you can go for this. I did tried Elianto nail polish, I would say it is a no no on their product, the brush is not good, indirectly application is more difficult.The color is also less vibrant and they do peel off more easily.

Hey guys ^_^ Welcome back!. Happy Halloween to you!!!! Hope you had fun time celebrating this wonderful occasion with friends and have crazy crazy party! But remember don’t drink and drive, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

This year, am not celebrating Halloween, rather just chilling at home relaxing and watching DVDs. Just finish A Night at The Museum 2, haha I love the story, it was seriously fun and entertaining. Good for releasing stress after a busy week.

You know what? I hurt my finger –‘pointer’ today. How did it happen? It was so silly, I kicked my finger by accident, and how did I manage to kick it? Lol u seriously do not want to know, it’s embarrassing and I honestly do not know how to explain haha.. just say I am silly silly silly alright. ^.^ hoho am blushing…

Anyways, my finger nail almost turned 90 degree to the opposite direction. Lucky me, my nails is still attached.. gosh it did worried me a lot when it happened. Unfortunately still, I injured the inner part, at the tip of my finger, somewhere where the nail and finger attached, so it’s still hurting now. There’s some internal bleeding thing going on, hope when I wake up tomorrow everything will be fine as I was schedule to work on Sunday.

Sound pathetic? Well I guess, that is working life, but it’s a big thing for our office/ company, as we are changing the whole new system, a "heart" & "brain" transplant we call it =) so everyone will be busy checking and helping one another, well, do hope we get to partey there! Lol

Anyways here is how my pointer look like now. My nail polish actually cracks. You can actually compare it with my ringman where the nail polish is still properly stick onto my nail. The reddish/ brownish part is where it bleeds. :(

Oh ya, I really want to show you this last week but I didn’t get to. It was suppose to be my nail of the week, and I had a whole bunch of picture taken just to show you ladies here on how I came out with the master piece, but my picture was really blur, so I thought may be skip this time. Understanding tax exemptions for new Budget 2010 - Malaysia

Malaysia Budget 2010 is out!!!

And it has tons and tons of stuff for us to learn and prepare to be "taxed"

Therefore, it is always important for tax payer like us to understand what we are paying each year, how are we being charged and how can we do an exemption.

THIS is the second of a three-part question-and-answer series provided by PricewaterhouseCoopers on various aspects of Budget 2010.

Question   : I have been issued a credit card and I subsequently decide to cancel the credit card six months later, will I be able to claim the service tax paid?

Answer     : The service tax law does not contain provisions for a refund of service tax under these circumstances.

Question   : If I have been issued a credit card free for life, how does the change in law affect me?

Answer     : Service tax will be collected on the completion of each year after Jan 1, 2010. A principal cardholder will have to pay RM50 per card and RM25 for every supplementary card.

Question   : Will I still be paying service tax when I have meals at restaurants after GST is implemented?

Answer     : GST will replace the current service tax. The Minister of Finance indicated that the rate of GST will be lower than the current rate of service tax. The current service tax rate is 5%.
With the reintroduction of real property gains tax we do hope that which is of lesser burden to the Rakyat would apply, says the Second Finance Minister

Question   : My company is considering purchasing a new building. We are looking at a building incorporated with “green technology”.

I understand there will be an exemption from stamp duty on the purchase of such buildings?

Answer     : Stamp duty exemption would be available for buyers of buildings and residential properties that have been issued a Green Building Index (GBI) certificate.
The GBI is a rating index for environmentally-friendly buildings.
The stamp duty exemption would only apply to buildings or residential properties bought directly from real property developers and the exemption is only given once to the first owner of the building.
It may not apply to existing buildings that have subsequently been granted the GBI certificate.
The amount of the stamp duty exemption is given only on the additional cost incurred by the property developer to obtain the GBI certificate, and not on the full value of the building.
The exemption will apply for sales and purchases agreements executed from Oct 24 2009 until Dec 31, 2014.

Question   : I heard that there will be a tax of 5% to be imposed on gains from the disposal of real property from Jan 1, 2010.

Answer     : It is proposed that real property gains tax will apply to disposals of real properties effective from Jan 1, 2010.
To date there has been a prevailing exemption on real property gains tax on such disposals since April 1, 2007.
Generally, the exemption would still apply to sale and purchase agreements executed by Dec 31, 2009.
Based on the Finance Bill, the rate of tax applicable will depend on the period the property has been held since it was acquired.
Previously, there was no tax for disposals by individuals from the sixth year onwards.
However, in the current proposal this has been removed. Therefore, both companies and individuals would be taxed at the scale rates that were applicable in the past.
The Second Finance Minister has recently clarified that the tax rate on such disposals of real property would be 5% irrespective of the period of ownership.
Therefore with the reintroduction of real property gains tax we do hope that which is of lesser burden to the Rakyat would apply.

Question   : I intend to sell my house next year. With real property gains tax applicable, will I need to file a return?

Does this mean 5% will be retained from money due to me from the sale of the property?

Answer     : You would need to file a real property gains tax return within 60 days of the date of the disposal. This proposal increases the previous 30 day deadline to submit a return.
The proposed mechanism for payment of real property gains tax from Jan 1, 2010, the acquirer would be required to retain an amount not exceeding 2% of the total value of the consideration for the property.
The acquirer would then be required to pay that amount directly to the Inland Revenue Board within 60 days of the date of the disposal.
The IRB will apply this amount received from the acquirer against the amount of real property gains tax you would need to pay on the disposal of your house.

Question   : I am a Malaysian citizen currently lecturing at a local university in Selangor.
I am planning to apply for a full time 2-year teaching position at a tertiary organisation in the Iskandar region. Do I get any special incentive if I accept the offer?

Answer     : Your employment offer in the Iskandar region would fall under one of the qualifying activities categorised as ‘educational services’.
If you apply and commence your employment in Iskandar Malaysia between Oct 24, 2009 and Dec 31, 2015, provided that you qualify as a Malaysian tax resident, your employment income will be taxed at the flat rate of 15%.
This could be substantially lower compared to the effective tax rate of a Malaysian tax resident.

Here is one example on how I eat strawberries.

I’ll normally take a table spoon full of sugar and milo, place them on a plate, and then grab my fresh strawberries.

Each time before popping the strawberries into my mouth, I’ll make sure I dip them on the sugar or milo or both!

It is so so good to eat them this way~~!!!! It will taste even better if your strawberries are sour. But don’t eat them this way too often as it is very unhealthy. B taught me another way of eating sour strawberries, that is to blend them with banana and pure yogurt...yumyumSS

Yummy~~! Enjoy your strawberries. You can also replace the strawberries with raspberries or some other berries… experiment youself :D

My Shopping Spree @ TheCurve+Ikano

Yeah~~~!!!! I finally get to go shopping after three weeks being not able to go anywhere but staying at home. I had the most fun day shopping ever!! Is like a bird in a cage, suddenly get freed.. haha…

I am going to show you my look for the day…

Jang jang.. haha.. I apply blue+grey eye shadow color, let me know if you want a tutorial on them ^_^.

I actually wore a short pants to go with my top, but… hehe I don’t have any assistance to take a picture of me so I decided to show you my top only..hehe.. =P

Today, venue is The Curve + Ikano. It was a fun mom + daughter day out ^__^V shopping and browsing =D

The first thing to do there is head for a restaurant.. I was starving, we decided to have some Nonya food, actually it was me, haha I am the only one at home haven’t eat anything as I woke up a little late today hehe..(pandan muka ya..lol) So, ah Tuan ee's Place it is ^__^

I wanted to try their Pineapple Fried rice as I felt in love with pineapple fried rice after I tried one from one of the restaurant in Phileo Damansara, I never knew the name : (

The rice was not exactly the taste I am expecting, but nonetheless it still tastes good, as in better than most fried rice I have tried, my mom loves it. The portion was quite value for money...huge enough for two. But will I order again? May be not… I only love the one in Phileo.

Mom ordered a Cendol, she said it was good, and it has a very nice aroma. But to me it look abit tiny lo… I expect high huge shave ice top with whole big bowl of the green stuff.

For the two things we ate it cost me about RM 20.13, to me still reasonable for a place like that.

We then went shopping in Ikea, then “The Street” where all the stalls are. These bargain stalls with lots of many interesting things to be discover is only available during Saturday and Sunday.

Mom bought whole lots of her cookery stuff and as for me? Check out below :D

I got this simply cute pink piggy mirror from Ikano Popular book store. It cost me RM13.89.

I love it's looks so much, and the color matches my room, so grab grab grab! The mirror angle can be adjusted up or down (see the picture above)

I then bought a whole bunch of nail art stuff from one of the stall in “The Street”. I was so excited and happy selecting haha...I wanted to buy everything I see… lol.. I am turning to a shopaholic soon haha

I got some paint brushes at a discounted price of RM 15, normally going for RM30.

Some Acrylic Paint for RM 30, written there normal price RM89, I doubt that.. impossible!! But who cares as long as I think RM 30 is reasonable to me haha…

I got two nail polishes too, at RM 10 for 2. I don’t really know why I get them, no idea, just think it is cheap, then I take.. lol ..

Going to experiment on them soon, will do a tutorial if I discover something I think nice ok? Hehe… really hope I get fun time playing with those multi colors…

I also got a quilt cover (a cover case for comforter). It is so cute and pink! I know this sound lame and silly, but this design is for kids! I chose it because it matches my room very well and the price is affordable, RM 59, 100% cotton. Some other design they have are selling up to like RM 100 and above, no way I am not going to get those.. it’s just few pieces of ... cotton? My objective is to get a cover..=P (I will show you the picture of the cover+ my room below)

“LV” handphone strap, this is so pretty! I think it goes really well with LV bags. It is not exactly LV’s LV, you know what I mean hehe ;P, but it’s gorgeous. I got this at RM 4, they are actually selling at 3 for RM 10, but I just want one, so taking another 2 is kind of wasteful loo…

Thai Odyssey is my favorite place to go for a whole body massage with mom. I favor it because of their professionalism, 100% Original Thai massage, and the price.

The branch that I visit most often recently will be the one in Tropicana City Mall, PJ. It is located at 2nd Floor, same floor as Toys ‘R’ Us. I go there because that branch is newer and facilitates with more private room. Getting a session is easier too since it is still new and not many go there^_^

Upon entering, you will be greeted by their friendly staff, most of the time only the cashier can understand English, the rest of the lady masseur are all Thaïs and they speak either little or no English at all. The last trip I went, the lady speaks mandarin to me hehe ^.^ but no worries, they are superb friendly, and if you need a translator, can always get the cashier to translate what you want haha..

I will normally go for their signatureTraditional Thai Massage as I love it so much. They don’t use any oil, lotion or fragrance unlike some of the other style of massage which is a plus point for me as I do not like the oily feeling as I will normally go shopping after that.

My last week visit was the most memorable and awesome one.

You can actually imagine how stiff my whole body was and how lifeless it is as I just checked out from the hospital about one week before. During my stay in the hospital I had drips on my hands and I can only eats and sleep.

My lady masseur actually feedback that I had a really stiff and tensed up body and that shouldn’t be the case. She helps to loosen up my tight muscle especially around my shoulder; and it was so great when she massage my head, I can tell you it was heaven!!!!!!! I enjoyed my whole massage session so so so so so much, my lady masseur was so alert and full of awareness. She uses the right pressure to ensure that I feel relaxed, (haha not pain throughtout the session) I nearly fall asleep during the whole session, so as my mom that was right beside me!! Haha imagine! (p/s: we get a twin private room ^__^, i think husband and wife can go for that)

This is definitely a good place to go for massage especially ladies as we need to be caution visiting places like this as most of the time, massage parlor is a place where most "hanky-panky" stuff take place. You know what I mean ;)

They do take in men as their customer, but ladies, no worries as they will have separate private rooms, you will not see or know who is next door either. And to all males species out there, if you are looking for cute gals here, plss.. you're in the wrong channel k? =P

I wanted to do a nail tutorial just moments back as my nails are pretty long and nice now, definitely the right length to allow creativity flows, but I decided not to when I open one of my nail polish. The smell was so strong; I figure that it would not be good for me to start a tutorial on nails yet since I just recovered from some serious health issue.

So why I am doing this?

Recently people kept asking me,

The reason I am doing this blog is because I really really love love make-ups, fashion and many many other pretty stuff and want to just share.

I am not saying I am an expert nor a professional; I am merely another girl down the corner of the road who loves all pretty things and wants to share.

I started playing with make-ups, high-heels, hair curler, dresses and many more~ at a very young age. I use to sneak into my mom’s room to play with all her stuff till I get scolded and got locked out from her room. Haha… I even took some of her clip ons earrings to be worn when we go for outing. Yes, will definitely mixed and match all clothes myself; I don’t trust others taste (kid’s thinking lol), tight my own hair and if I get the chance I will ask my mom to put on lipstick and blush for me :D silly kid I am haha…

When I do not have a lipstick? Colored candy will satisfied me haha… I guess some of you guys out there might have tried this trick before…lol such lame lame thing to do..

As I grew older? I really love dressing up and putting on make-ups for my friends. I remembered during my university time, I will call up my close friends to come to my place and let me draw on them… haha I even mixs and matches clothes for them wherever I get the chanc, tight their hair…accessories.. Such an evil friend I am, haha but reallly glad they entertain me hehehe..love them all!

So why didn’t I go for such industry then? Well, luck isn’t that great after all, when something is not yours it is not.. or may be I didn’t tried hard enough. I really have very low self esteem back then as I never attended any classes on dressing up or make-ups and stuff… so I know with my standard will definitely get screwed to the max!

So, why I am doing this? To fulfill my dreams of doing what I like, as in like a hobby, since I preferred to be at home most of the time, I think it will be a good way to spend my spare time.

It also creates lots of satisfaction when I know there are actually people out there reading, commenting and experimenting on my post. I love it so so much when my friends followed the tutorial and show me their outcome… I really appreciate their effort so so much…

Am I that free? Answer is no not at all. As an analyst, I am not at all free, but of course there will be some spare time for you to actually choose how you want to spend you time, you can either read a paper or go out with friends, and as for me? This is what I choose to do, sharing whatever I like on my blog ^-^

My close friend once told me that I will need to prepare for negative comments form haters, (hey I put such a big photo up there.. I know la..dying dy haha ..:S) yeah, this is what all bloggers out there have to sacrifice when they write something, but my opinion? Negative comments may lead to improvement, but if you really hate one site so much that it gets into your nerves? Then leave quietly, why even bothered to comment?

Turquoise Smokey Eyes Tutorial (^-^)

Hello guys!!! *(^-^)*

Today, I am doing a tutorial on Turquoise Smokey Eyes look. ^.^

There will be lots of steps and pictures for you to view from, if you need a larger view, just click on them.

Oh ya, before you start, make sure you have your foundation on and conceal everything you want. V^.^, now let's get moving..~ yeah~

Here goes.....

1. As usual, apply primer on you lids and the areas under your eyes.

2. Take a shimmer cream shadow and apply it over your lids (please refer to picture 2) I am using a silver cream shadow color.

3. Next, take a turquoise eye shadow and apply it over the cream shadow. I pick my favorite Skin Food Vitamin Shadow color 63.

The reason I chose a shimmer cream eye shadow is to build a base to not only it helps to hold on to the turquoise shadow, but also adds more glow and shine to it.

4.Take a dark blue eye shadow and apply it from the inner corner of your lid to the center of your lid. Reason is to add a stronger tone to you eye shadow color. Here I use Shiseido Silky Eye Shadow Duo, S13, Sea SunShine.

5.Next, use a blending brush and pick both dark brown and rum color and mixed them together. Brush it on your crease into your eye socket area, right above where you just brush on the turquoise eye shadow. This will give more depth to the eyes, also creating the smokey look you want. I am brushing on my Loreal Reminiscence collection. Color will be Dark Chocolate and Pink lust. However, just grab what you have as you don't need to exactly use what I am wearing here. Make sure you try to soften the edge between the turquoise color and the dark brown color so the eye shadow will look well blended.

6. Now take a black eye shadow, matte color will do much better but if you do not have one, just take any black color eye shadow will do, and brush some at the end corner into your eye socket area. You can do this with your eyes open, brush it about ¼ to your eyes. We do not want the black eye shadow to go till center. Again, try to soften the edge with your blending brush by blending the colors properly (blend it at the part where two different colors meet). I am using my Kate BR-1 eye shadow.

7. Take a white or cream or beige color; brush it on the brow bone area. This will much help brighten your eyes. Instead of creamy or white color, this time I decided to use a light pinkish tone to brighten up the brow bone area, you can do that too. Here I used Maybeline Glitter Wear 23 Glitter Pink.

8. It’s time to line your eyes, use a black pencil eye liner, and draw a thick line right above your lashes. If possible, go as close as you can to your lashes leaving no empty spaces between the liner and your lashes. Opt for ophthalmologist tested eye liner so that it will not harm your eyes.

9. For my lower lash line, I use an eye liner brush, pick up some of my black eye shadow and brush it on. Reason being is because; pencil eye liner is harder to control if you want to draw a nice thin dark line.

10. I also apply dark blue eye shadow at the tear duct area to brighten up the whole look.

11. I choose to highlight my tear duct again with white pearl color as I want a further sharper and brighter look for my eyes.

12. Line your eyes again with a black liquid eye liner to set your pencil eye liner as well as giving it a more dramatic look. I am using Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner in black.

13. Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I chose DiorShow Black Out as it gives the intense black look to my lashes. I love it :) You can wear any black mascara you have as long as it give you the intense black look.

14. Yeah, it's time to stick on the false lashes. If it doesn't fit your eyes, you may want to trim them a little.Try to stick them as close as possible to your own lashes. I prefer a all black false lashes for this look as it will not take the attention away from your eye make-up, in comparison if you stick on a false lashes with glitters and colors on them.

15. Again, re-apply your mascara, making sure your false lashes stick together with your own lashes, so that it will appear more natural.

16. Okay, you may want to skip this step. I am actually trying to lighten my brow color with my mousse foundation, haha.. funny right =P. The reason I am doing this is because I do not want my brows to out stand my eyes make-up. So I want to keep them “low profile”. You can also choose to use brow colored gel to lighten them up. Also, I did not trimmed my brow, so yeah its a little messy hehe.. now you know why I am doing this hahaha...

17. Apply on nude color or natural color lipstick or gloss. I pick my YSL Pure Lipstick, 125 with SPF 8 mainly because it look so natural.

Oh yes, don't forget to blush, I prefer orangey blush for this look, as too pinky will make everything look overly done. Just dust on a light color on your cheek bone.

Here is the final product.."Turquoise Smokey Eyes" I really hope you love it as I do!!!

Now get your hair done, you can either go for a sexy look by curling your hair and let it down ( I think it is best for clubbing eh? =P) or if you are going to a formal dinner function, is best that you tight them up, giving it an elegant touch.

Studded Heels, did you get one?

OMG..Studded heels are so so so so in trend right now, did you get one?

Those which are real hit right now are those strappy studded one (Picture above).

They gave that real edgy kind of look which I love them so much! I thought that they might go pretty well with ¾ jeans or 3/4 khakis pants.

Of all the 4 pairs above, I love the forth pair most (From left to right). I like it being simple, yet having that "strappy edgy" kind of look. It would definately go pretty well with a hot pants or a mini skirt, what do you think? =P

The first pair, looks awesome as well, it gave this stylish hard rock feels. Don’t you agree with me <^.^>V

If you are opting for something more feminine, you might want to look for heels shown above, in trend yet brings out the feminine side of yours.

For the first pair of heels (From left to right), I would say it goes pretty well with a lovely gown, keeping everything simple, yet has it own touch of “strappy kind of uniqueness”.

The second pair catches my eyes. I love its wide banded strap which gave it a booty kind of look, yet wearable in a hot sunny place like Malaysia. Definitely goes well with a simple nice short or a ¾ light color pants.

As for third and forth pairs of heels, I would definitely recommend it for a pretty yet simple cocktail dress. Experimenting with colors with definitely brings out a simple dress and makes everything look gorgeous.

I am so looking forward into getting one of these soon; are you?

How I do my office make-up :)

Hi guys, today I am doing a tutorial on how I do my office make-up. Sure hope you love it! o(^.^ )o

First and foremost, before jumping into applying make-ups on our face, make sure you have a clean and cleansed face, remember to tone your face and moisturized it a little as wearing make up all day might make your face to be dry and tired.

Happy Face = Happy Skin = Happy You!

Now, the most important thing to do is to wear your sunscreen, SPF 15 will do good if you are indoor the whole day, but if your outdoor, SPF 30 or higher will do better. And if you’re flying go for higher SPF (e.g SPF 50) as UV ray are really harsh up there. I am using Loreal UV Perfect SPF 50. I love this mainly because it has a little pur

Conceal all the spots and pimples with a concealer, try to go for something that is nearest to your skin color. Dab little bit of the product and not in huge amount as it might appear obvious and cakey, it’s okay if you want to skip this step to keep a natural face.

Powder your face, if possible try not to use foundation as you will be wearing the make-up whole day, and you want your face to breathe easily throughout the day. But if you insist, choose mineral make-ups or a good BB-cream. Here you may also want to contour a little, please refer to this tutorial to know how to contour your face

Prime your eyes. This is an important step if you want your eyeshadow to last longer and for easier application. A good primer should not cake up after awhile of application, rather keep your eye make-up clean and fresh. I am using MAC Prep +Prime here as I found it quite good and not oily.

Today, our main character here will be Kate eye shadow palette BR-1. This is my favorite eye shadow palette, mainly because of its quality pigment, which makes application easy and result is good.

If you are a beginner, I would highly recommend that you get this as the color fits you in all occasion.

Brown color is the safest color to play with for office make-up as you will never go wrong with warm brown colors.

Apply lightly with a brush using white/ cream shimmery color on your lids, focusing on your brow bones, this open up your eyes, making it look brighter.

Next, take some of the orangey brown color with your brush and apply it on the area near the inner corner of the eye to somewhere around the center of your eyelid as per shown in the picture above.

Take a blending brush, pick up some of the dark brown color from your eye shadow palette and brush it around your crease area. Does this with your eye open as the application will be easier. Try not to brush it past the center of your lids as you do not want it to take over the orangey brown that you have just apply.

To further brighten your eyes, finish off by applying some shimmer white/ gold or cream color near your tear duct area. (Tips: Remember to smile)

Now, lets check your work, make sure the eye shadow color blend together properly, and if it doesn’t try to touch up a little.

Next step, take a pencil eyeliner and line the top of your eyelid, line it nearer to your lashes to make it look more natural. I would highly recommend pencil eyeliner than liquid eyeliner as you want to keep a more natural look while you are working.

Got get a curler to curl your lashes.

It’s time for mascara to wake up those sleepy lashes, please go here for mascara application tips. I am using Maybeline Voloum' Express, waterproof mascara. I love Maybeline mascara as I do find them quite reliable. Also, try to choose waterproof mascara to avoid smearing especially if you accidentaly rub your eyes throughout the day. Yes, you can imagine what disaster it might cause you... =P

Now, this is an additional step if you have messy brow, brush your brow neatly with a brush. And for those of you who have really messy brow, you might want to apply some brow gel to keep you brow in place.

Touch up those empty spaces between brow with a brush. You might want to use a brow powder, but for me I am using my Kate eye shadow palette, dark brown, to fill up those empty spot.. now you know why I love this eye shadow so much, one eye shadow do it all!!!! Yes, it definately ROCKZZ !!

Apply some natural color blush on the apple of your cheek; you might want to read this for its application method base on face shape. Also, put on some lipstick. Try not to go for too reddish color as you do not want to look “overly” make-up. Heavier lipstick color might also drawn attention away from your pretty eye make-up. I am using Clinique "66 Just Raisin". I love this color so so much. It's texture is great as well as it is moist and not dry. Hehe.. running out of this soon..

Now final touch up, I would normally take my highlighter and highlight on the important areas again to further strengthen the whole look. I am using PN from Sheseido. I can't give you a full detail on this highlighter as it is written in Japanese..sorry : (

Congratulation, now you are all done! Change your outfit, get your hair in place and you are ready to RUN!!!

HPV Vaccine

I was reading news at theStar.com.my where I ran into this news where our government is giving out free human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization vaccine to women in Malaysia (below are the two articles I copied from TheStar.com.my)

Reading it left me feeling rage as I did read alot about the harmful side-effects of this vaccine. It not only causes harmful side effect but also in serious events, death in young women. Don’t believe me? Try Google for it. You can either type "HPV Vaccine side-effects" or even "GARDASIL side-effects" , there are also some videos on this topic on youtube. ( Click Here or Click Here to see one of the video)

You will be shocked by the number of negative reports on this vaccine and to shed you some light on this, HPV is not the main cause of cervical cancer. People that suffered from HPV might not necessary get cervical cancer and those who get this HPV vaccine is not 100% guaranteed that they can be prevented from suffering cervical cancer.

So why are we being introduce to such vaccine? And why is our government investing on these vaccine when they are not proven 100% safe and 100% effective? Is this a way for pharmaceutical companies earn their millions from there?

I am just merely sharing my thoughts and concerns, I am not saying that you should 100% avoid yourself from taking this vaccine (its your call and decision) and our government move is not right, am just saying that before we jump into investing into some vaccines (which I know US is vaccinating their young women and not necessary this “gung-ho” country move then we should follow..) aren’t we supposed to check and know whether it helps? What is their side-effect? Are they worth investing/ injecting since the vaccine does not 100% prevent you from getting the cancer?

My thoughts is, whatever vaccine we are taking, lets be for sure we know 100% what is it for and their side-effects, and not just follow the crowd… What say you then?

Cervical cancer vaccine may be extended to adult women

KOTA KINABALU: The government will consider expanding the free human papillomavirus (HPV) immunisation programme to protect against cervical cancer for adults also.

However, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said that providing the vaccine free to other adult woman would depend on whether her ministry had sufficient funds.

From next year, the government will start an immunisation programme for 13-year-olds which is expected to cost about RM150mil a year.

''The decision to provide the vaccine free for 13 years olds was because cervical cancer accounted for the second highest number of cases among women in Malaysia, after breast breast cancer.

''If there is a need, the ministry will decide to broaden free jabs for others,” she told reporters at the her Hari Raya open house in Kg Pengalat Besar in Papar on Saturday.

She said the vaccine has been found more effective when given to younger people as compared to those in the 40s.

On Friday, Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai announced that some 300,000 13-year-olds would be given free HPV immunisation jabs.

The vaccine is available in the country and costs about RM1,200 for three doses at private hospitals though the government was negotiating with the suppliers to reduce the price to about RM500.

Cervical cancer vaccination for all girls

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry will provide annual human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination against cervical cancer or cancer of the cervix to an estimated 300,000 13-year-old girls in Malaysia beginning next year.

It is up to the girls to take advantage of the vaccine.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said RM150mil would be spent annually to make the vaccine available to the girls.

“The vaccination is likely to be carried out in school but we have not finalised the details yet,” he said.

Since each girl needs three doses of vaccination, it would be easier if it were done in school, he added.

After the first vaccination, the second one is taken at the second month while the third at the sixth month.

The HPV vaccination was reported to be 98% effective against type 16 and 18 of the virus, the types that were common among Malaysians, he said.

“It costs the government RM382mil annually to treat cervical cancer but vaccination against it costs only RM150mil,” he said after the launch of the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA mobile clinic and Health Awareness Campaign Friday.

Liow said the World Health Organisation had reported that the vaccine would reduce the cancer risk by 70%.

Currently, the vaccine costs RM1,200 for three doses per person.

The Ministry hoped to negotiate with drug companies for as low as RM500 person as there would be economies of scale and others seeking the jabs in the private sector would benefit too, he said.

Liow said 2,000 new cases of cervical cancer were detected each year; 16.1 out of 100,000 population.

In 2006, 23.2 per 100,000 Chinese women in Malaysia suffered from the cancer while the Indians recorded 16.4 percent and Malays 8.7 percent, he said.

The Malaysian Chinese and Indian women had higher risk of cervical cancer compared with the Chinese in Indians in Singapore, he added.

He also said that Malaysian women must go for pap smears for early detection because only 43 percent of them go for pap smears and this was one of the main reason why many went for treatment too late.

In July, Liow said his ministry was conducting a preliminary study on the impact of providing HPV for 12 to 13-year-old girls, as well as the economic and financial constraints on the Government.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the HPV could help to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer by at least 70%.

Cervical cancer was the second most common cancer among women in Malaysia after breast cancer, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun said in July.

Each day, an average of four women are diagnosed with it.

I love chocolates!!!! Any body doesn’t? OMG thinking about it is already making me craving for one … I just couldn’t resist the temptation of chocolates! ~the love potion~

Well lucky for me I got a chance to get a yummy treat @ Schokolart, Soho KL @ Solaris Mont Kiara during my Raya Holiday with Suzan. It’s my first time there and I am practically excited and jumping for joy! Woohoo~!!! haha…

Located at first floor of Soho KL, the place is just right opposite the famous Japanese buffet Restaurant “Tenji”.

I was aesthetic with its location; it captured the beautiful view of KL City…absolutely amazing!!

Upon entering, the place looks so so so girlie and pretty, Schokolart uses pastel pink and blue color added in with a little edgy touch to their design. I love it especially the design of the high chair sofa. It reminds me a little of those CEO’s chair but with a little touch of design and comfort V^.^

Since we had a heavy breakfast, we decided to order something small just to try out. We settle on with some drinks and cakes….

The Temptation, Schokolart’s signature hot chocolate, containing 62% Cacao cark chocolate, it is serve with a yummy piece of cinnamon marshmallow. It tasted so so chocolaty !! Their cute mini chocolate cake desserts look so adorable and it’s size is just right for people who want to watch their weight yet have a small chocolate treat ^.^V

Toblerone

Toblerone, recommended by Schokolart is made of Toblerone cake with apricots. To me it sounded kind of weird Toblerone + apricots don’t sound too right for me… first attempt, it has a slight crisp outer layer, with yummy chocolate “sauced” melt smoothly in your mouth. You can see the apricot though the taste of apricot doesn’t really outstand, which I think is good, because apricot and chocolate still doesn’t feel right to me… haha anyways this is a must try dessert if you are there!

We also ordered another dessert, haha I am so sorry I forgotten it’s name, the cake tasted just average and does not give the “big impression” thingy =P lol, am just being honest…

Today, I am sharing something, haha.. I know it’s kind of go out of topic from my usual post, but I do really find this article interesting and so so so wanting to share this with you people...how can I keep such a fine piece to my selfish self? No way!!! =P

How to analyse an annual report

MANY of us receive a lot of annual reports every year.

Even though we are aware that there is a lot of important information in the reports, not many of us are willing to spend time going through those reports before buying stocks.

Besides, it is quite difficult for some investors, especially those who lack proper financial training, to analyse the financial information.

In this article, we will provide a quick guide on how to analyse an annual report.

Given that there are many ways to dissect an annual report, the following six pointers are just a quick check on the financial health of any listed companies.

Income statement is the financial statement that shows the effects of transactions completed over a specific accounting period.

In this statement, we have three key pointers: the current level of revenue; high growth in revenue; and the profits made in proportion to the level of revenue.

The current level of revenue indicates the size of a company. A company with revenue or sales of RM1bil is definitely bigger than one that has revenue of only RM100mil.

In Malaysia, companies with revenue of RM500mil and above should be considered as more established companies.

High growth in revenue implies that the company has been expanding over the past period.

Assuming the high growth in revenue will eventually translate into high growth in profits, we should invest in companies with higher growth in revenue because this may lead to higher stock prices.

If the overall economy is expanding, avoid those companies that are showing a decline in revenue.
This might imply that the overall operating activities of the companies are declining.

The profits made in proportion to the level of revenue indicates whether this company has high or low profit margins in its products. The profits here refer to the profit after tax or net income.

We should invest in high profit margin companies because high profit margins will provide a cushion to the sudden change in operating environment. A company with revenue of RM1bil and profits of RM10mil is more likely to face tougher challenges in a stiff price competition environment compared with a company with revenue of RM100mil and profits of RM10mil.

Balance sheet is the financial statement that shows a company’s assets, liabilities and owners’ equity at a point in time. The two main pointers in this statement are cash in hand and total borrowings.

Cash in hand refers to the cash or cash equivalent like fixed deposits. If possible, we should invest in companies with high cash in hand and zero borrowings. High cash in hand may imply that the company has high chances of rewarding shareholders with higher dividend payments.

Besides, companies with high cash in hand have more financial stability than companies with very tight level of cash. This explains why most investment gurus like to invest in cash-rich companies.

Total borrowings include the short- and long-term borrowings. Here, we should check whether the company has reported any sharp increase in borrowings during the financial periods. Most companies need to increase borrowings to support their capital expenditure on any business expansion.

However, if a company has been increasing its borrowings each year and the level has far exceeded one to two times the shareholders’ funds, unless its operating activities are able to support the repayments, the company faces very high financial risk.

Cash flow statement shows the sources and uses of cash over the period. One very important pointer in this statement is the operating cash flow.

High operating cash flow implies that the company is generating cash from its operating activities. A healthy company should show high operating cash flow because this number will indicate how much actual cash the company has generated from operations during the period.

We need to be careful of the companies that are showing profits but at the same time generating negative operating cash flows every year. This may imply that these companies have very high receivables. Any economic downturn may cause a sharp increase in provisions on bad debts.

Lastly, investors need to understand that the above six pointers are just a quick guide to analysing any annual report. Serious investors should not only analyse these six pointers. They are advised to scrutinise the reports further for more details.

How to apply bronzer, blusher and highlighters!!

Now, let’s us move on into Bronzer, Blusher and Highlighters!

But why do we need to blush? Well, putting on blusher correctly will certainly make your face look healthier and more radiant.

I highly recommend people who has really people who has really pale skin tone to try on some blusher, you might want to skip all the heavy make-up product, but a few stroke of blusher on you cheek will certainly make a difference.

I remember during my university time, my close friend Kylie loves applying blusher and I love seeing her with those blusher on. She certainly looks more radiant, cheerful and healthy. Sometime even though I knew that she is having the blusher on, I do still envy how her skin’s glows. It is definitely a plus point for her to create a good first impression, of a healthy, cheerful girl/lady!!

Then what’s a bronzer? Most people in the western countries loves apply bronzer as a skin tan to get a little of the sun kiss looks. But that’s not all. I use bronzer to contour my face once in a while, as like everyone else, I don’t have a perfect feature, so contouring here and there will bring up the “sharp” look I want giving that perfect “model” face shape you always see in the magazine.

So how to apply them? Well. There are many many different techniques and ways to apply bronzer and blusher, here today I am showing some of the most basic techniques I know.

Before you start, make sure you have you foundation on or you have powdered you face, as it will be a no no if you only apply these products after you applied the bronzer or the blusher. Also, take note on the legend below:-

Oval shape Face
**************
It’s a good good news if you own an oval shape face. There are so many different techniques to be explored and have fun with!

Oval Shape Face Application

1.    To give a little extra definition, take your bronzer and a kabuki/ a powder brush applied it on your temples (as per shown in the picture). Make sure you tap off some excessive powder before applying them as you do not want to end up like having two bruises on your forehead. Try applying them on a large circular motion

2.    The next step, grab your blusher, remember to smile, this technique will help you to find your cheek bone easily. Now, apply the blusher in an upward stroke motion on your cheek bone, try not to go below your cheek bone as you do not want to look like a big red apple head after you finish.

3.    If you desire to give some extra height to you nose bridge, apply some highlighting powder or any or you beige or pearl color eye shadow on them as a highlighter( please refer to Square Shape, “highlighting” you face below for application techniques)

Square Shape Face

According to fengshui, if one has a square face shape, the person will be stable, reliable and trustworthy.

Square Shape Face Application

1.    If you have a square face, what you might want is to soften the edges of your face. This can be done by contouring the outer edge of your face. Grab your bronzer and a kabuki/ a powder brush applied it on your temples (as per shown in the picture). Also apply you bronzer around your jaw area, on the area you want to soften a little. As usual, tap off the excessive powder to avoid making it overly powdered before applying them. Apply your bronzer in a big circular motion. ( as per shown in the picture)

2.    For blusher, dab some on your brush and smile, brush it lightly using round upward strokes on the apple of your cheek. Do not spread them too large as you want to keep the attention to the center of you face.

3.    Next step is to highlight you face, bringing focus to the center part of your face making it looking more outstanding. Get a highlighter, you can use either highlighting powder or even you shimmery eye shadow if you want to save cost. Get those in pearly white or beige color. Using your kabuki/ a powder brush and brush them in circular upward stroke on your forehead area, apply some on your chin (as per shown in picture). Now using upward and gentle stroke, apply the shimmer/highlighting powder on the bridge of your nose. It will help to brings out your nose, giving it some height; this is a great tip for Asian girls out there!

Round Shape Face

People who has a rounded face usually has cute, younger looking appearance.

Round Shape Face Application

1. To give more definition to a round shape face, first of all, get your bronzer and a kabuki/ a powder brush applied it on your temples ( as per shown in the picture), gently pull your brush stroke down and brush it along the side of you face and slightly to the cheek bones area. Try not to apply the whole of your cheek. All you want is to give your face a more contouring effect, making it slight shape inwards.

2. For blusher, dab some on your brush and smile, brush it lightly using round upward strokes on the apple of your cheek. Do not spread them too large as you want to keep the attention to the center of you face. It’s ok to have the blusher over lapping the bronzer that you have just applied.

3. Next step is to highlight you face, bringing focus to the center part of your face making it looking more outstanding. Get a highlighter, you can use either highlighting powder or even you shimmery eye shadow if you want to save cost. Get those in pearly white or beige color. Heart Shape Face

In the ancient time, women with a heart shape face are being considered pretty and elegant as they have the more feminine look.

1. To give more definition to a heart shape face, first of all, get your bronzer and a kabuki/ a powder brush applied it on your temples ( as per shown in the picture), gently pull your brush stroke down and brush it along the side of you face and slightly to the cheek bones area. Try not to apply the whole of your cheek. All you want is to give your face a more contouring effect, making it slight shape inwards.

2. The next step, grab your blusher, remember to smile, this technique will help you to find your cheek bone easily. Now, apply the blusher in an upward stroke motion on your cheek bone, try not to go below your cheek bone as you do not want to look like a big red apple head after you finish.

3. Next step, get a highlighter, you can use either highlighting powder or even you shimmery eye shadow if you want to save cost., apply some on your chin (as per shown in picture). Do not apply the shimmery stuff on your forhead as you do not want to put more attention to it. Just the chin area will do the job!

So why do we need to go through the hassle to determine our facial shape?

By knowing our facial structure, applying make up will be easier and more effective.

We will be able to further more enhance our feature and knowing what make-up products we should apply and how to apply them correctly according to our facial structure.

First step of determining of analyzing our face shape, you will have to tight all you hair back, if you have fringe, get a hair band or hair clips and pull your hair back, have your face free from hair.

Now, go grab a mirror and analyst your face shape as below info.

1. Oval shape

Jessica Alba has a very pretty oval shape face

* Considered the most aesthetically balanced face. Forehead is slightly wider than the lower face; shape is similar to an egg.

2. Square Face

* Square face length and width measurement is close, it has strong angles.

3. Round Face

Round Face

Actress Kirsten Dunst has a cute round face

* Round face length and width measurement is close, but it has softer angles/edges.

4. Heart Shape

* Heart Shape has narrow pointed chin, sometimes with a high forehead. The cheek area might have a smaller width than the eye area width of the face, with soft smooth edge.

Our face shape might change in time especially when we loses or gain weight or our skin loses its elasticity and lipos.

No matter what facial shape we have, always remember we are all pretty and unique individual in our own ways.

OH NO Chapped Lips!!!!

People who knew me might notice that I have chapped lip problem. It became serious about 5 years ago during my first year of university life, I have tried many solutions and alternatives to get rid of it, but the problem never go away.

An example of Chapped, dried lip

In general “Chapped Lips” refers to dry, painful cracking lips not only on the lips but around the mouth area, and at times they might even split and bleeds!! Chapped lips are normally cause by dryness in cold dry weather either in the winter or an air-conditioned room.

I tried applying various types of lip balms, from the cheapest to the most expensive every single day without fail, but none of them helped. To be honest, I have very low self-esteem at one point when my lip looks like two dried sausages, no kidding!!

I was so upset; I went to consult a doctor, my chapped lips was so severe that he needs to give me “hydrocortisone ointment” + some kind of moisturizing emulsion. He told me that my chapped lip became so severe that it is now an allergy… imagines that!

In just a few days after applying the cream he gave me, my chapped lips begin to recover, it’s like a miracle!! I guess the “hydrocortisone ointment” did help, but don’t tried this on your own, as “hydrocortisone ointment” has poisonous substance and not to be eaten, so it is best if could consult a doctor before start applying one. Also, it contain "steroid" which is very bad for your kidney and health.

I started venturing into safer and yet inexpensive option on how to cure my chapped lips and maintain it’s moisture as I do not want to fall back into what I was previously. My journey with petroleum jelly begins! It is the most in-expensive way to cure your dry lips problem and road to getting soft moisturizes lips.

So what do you have to do with the petroleum jelly?

Before going to bed …

Step 1: Cleanse your lips

Cleanse your lips with warm tape water. Some may prefer to clean them using mild salt water, suit your preference and dab it dry with a soft towel. If the excessive dried skin falls of its ok, if they don’t, DO NOT peel them!

*** WARNING! If you have dry chappy lips, please do not use harsh soap or over scrubbed your lips. It will cause it to lose it moisture and you might even make it bleed and worsen the condition. Worst still you might be like me.. allergy!!

Step 2: Get your petroleum jelly

Apply inside the circled area only

Get your jar of petroleum jelly, and dig out a one full tea spoon of petroleum jelly, and apply it all over your lips and a small amount around your mouth area. Try not to spread too much of the petroleum jelly on to your face area as it is non-comedogenic, it will clog your pores!!

Step 3: Go to bed

Go to bed with the petroleum jelly on and do not lick your lips as you are not suppose to be feeding on them =P

The next day, go grab a mirror! You’ll see the difference!!

Additional tips that might help:-

1. Other than petroleum jelly, you might want to drink more water; it will help to nourish both your skins and lip, keeping them hydrated.

2. Chapped lips might also mean the lack of certain vitamins such as vitamins B and E so you might want to stock up on that =)

3. Also, pay attention to the ingredient in the lip balms, lipstick or any lips product you use and see whether is there any ingredients you are allergy at.. This is a crucial point!!

Pretty lips = Pretty smile = Fun time smooching!!!

I got yummy cupcakes from a colleague of mine today; it looks so so so so so super duper cute!!!!!

There are two designs, one is a little girl, and the other one is a cute little baby covered with a cute pink blanket.

Curious as usual, I wanted to where did she got these cute little cupcakes, at first I wanted to visit her place just to give a chat…but her place is so far from mine, being lazy as ever... I thought may be later.. hahaha … oh yeah, just to let you know, she just gave birth to a cute baby girl! V^.^ so probably now you know why there is a cute little girl and a baby on the cupcakes.. hehe

How to apply mascara with no smearing/ staining on lids?

Always wonder how to get smear/ stain free lids when you apply your mascara? Well, let me show you my trick to avoid smearing/staining and get that perfectly well-groom eye lashes on each application^.^

First, use an eye lash curler to curl your lashes.

Why do we curl our lashes?
1.    It will open up our eyes, making it look more awake and bright V^o^
2.    If you curl them properly, mascara will not smear so easily, especially when you sweat throughout the day, as it do not touches your skin v^.^V
3.    It just makes our eyes sexier! ~yeah~!

Normally, after curling our lashes, the next steps most of us do is to apply mascara right away…

If you're not an expert in applying this sticky liquid, they usually end up on our lids when we are not careful..

The result…

Smear/stain on our lids

Normally what I will do before I jump straight into getting my mascara stick is that, I will grab a business card, any business card will do, preferably white or light color, so you can see your lashes easily..

Try to bend it into “U” shape, try to be gentle, as we do not want to fold it flat, all we want is to get a “U” shape so that it can fit onto our eyes, making the mascara application easier..

Place the business card on top of your lids, you can probably pull your lids gently with the business card to show more lashes, especially if you have very short and hard to reach lashes.

Apply your mascara as usual using your other hand. This trick works well with older mascara too, where its texture is a little drier compare to brand new mascara, as you can actually press a little harder and no afraid of smearing/staining.

The result? Well-groomed lashes with no smear/stain…

Can you see the difference? Right eye with smear/ stain and left eye, smear/stain free!

Beautiful eyes = Extra confidence for the day!

I bought a pink flip-flop today! O(n_n)O

Pretty huh?

Today, it’s a day off for me! v^.^V yeah~! I went on a weekly groceries shopping spree with my dear mommy, Giant, Kelana Jaya, it’s like a normal day Mom and daughter doing some shopping for food and grocer together.

While on our way back to car, as usual my eyes never stop staring here and there at shops, stall and “Bargain stuff!!”… not guys hahaha…=P…. This sign “ RM 10” at a stall grab me, bottom of the sign? OMMGGG pretty flip-flops!!.. I sway my way there without my mom notice.. haha and have a look… hmm… all the flip-flops sold are not as what many may think i.e. as it’s price describe ->> cheap and low quality.. In fact… they are all very sweet and pretty and best part? It uses non-slip material. I need to get a pair!

Haha… I saw one in brown; they have 3 little diamonds on them… so cute!!! I take a browse at the rest, one capture me as well, it’s in beige, but I guess it might be hard to maintain, so I look again… I saw this…striking pink flip-flop, yes this is the one! I am going to get a pair of this, I tried them on, and it fitted perfectly well and it’s so soft and comfortable.

They remind me of Ipanema Flip-Flops so so much!!Yet at a cheaper price...

What do you think?It felt like those Croc's sandals materials.. so soft and comfortable..

It even had a little wedge platform, which I love the most!

It even matches my Ikea chair very well haha..

I would say it's another good buy! They still have it in Giant, Kelana Jaya, a stall, opposite Body Shop.. You may want to check them out if u happen to be there... :)
